That's what they say. The reality is more complicated - the peer reviewed studies are subject to publication bias, so that nice-sounding findings are published, and null (or politically incorrect) results are shelved. So when you see "p=0.049" it's not the real p, because already a similar study has been done 20 times, but only this one, confirming the hypothesis, was published.

In fact, what irks mi most, is Aella's uncritical use of the Political Compass, which is rather obviously a propagandistic tool designed to convince a reasonable person that they should vote democrat through clever choice of questions.

when I was in undergrad — so, 19 years old then and a fan of political compass, not knowing how bimbo I was — I suggested the political compass to a poli sci professor. this was in 2008, long before it was a meme. she told me in the most polite language allowable by a private university that I was being a moron for not noticing how biased it was in favor of a certain left-libertarian outcome

in retrospect, so glad she did that. and I could tell she was biting her tongue.

Talk about a lack of self-awareness... it's really kind of sad. She gets abused at 8, runs away from home at 17, and within a year goes into sex work... and she thinks being abused had little to no long-term effects on her?

It's no surprise she "only" found the abuse confusing and uncomfortable at the time. That's because an 8-year-old doesn't know about sex and doesn't understand what's happening. It's often only later when victims are old enough to understand what happened that then they have to process that traumatic experience. And a very common way of doing so is by becoming hypersexual, promiscuous, etc.

I mean, these are textbook reactions to childhood abuse and Aella considers herself some sex researcher but can't even see what's right in front of her face?

1. She is so fucking incapable of doing anything herself. Always needs her army of simps to do the most basic shit for her.
2. I don't understand why she is even bothering. She has already demonstrated that she does not care about integrity. If she finds that any study "replicates her data," she will use that as proof that her data is just as good as someone who has actual research experience. She will dismiss any research that contradicts her data, because she believes that her data is better than existing research.

And she is only doing this because she got pushback for stupidly claiming that lit reviews are unnecessary... but still can't be arsed to do the work herself.

But you're not unprimed, you already have assumptions and you're supposed to already have a fucking hypothesis. You summarize previous research so you can say why yours isn't a waste of time. (Even if it is.) If you're doing research while ignoring everything that's come before you're going to sound like a complete moron not unbiased.

Something doesn't really add up to me: in her infamous shower tweet, she mentions she had sex 63 times last year. Not going to powerlevel or TMI, and people have different drives of course, but that seems very low for the "promiscuous poly woman" persona she puts out online.
Most of the married couples in my friend-sphere (conservative, religious, have several kids, work full-time, etc.) consider 3x a week to be a healthy number to hit,
which is putting them at triple the action this self-proclaimed "whorelord" is enjoying.

A nice little subplot of Aella's is her wanting to basically settle down, get married, and have kids.
