Nora is probably right that she gets less interaction and applause from "cis" people. I'm sure some of it is bias. But a lot if it is that she is very Nora-centric. You will not get even a superficial gesture towards mutual social interest from Nora, unless Nora can squeeze you into the ~Social Justice Hero~ narrative of the month. Usually that means shutting up and applauding which isn't very fun.

However, right now non-"cis" people are part of the Social Justice Hero narrative. So they might be suffering under the illusion that Nora is talking about them, with them, or about issues that affect them. Realistically, though, they are more like props for Nora's self-talk than actual people who are being engaged with as people.

I assume that's true for many, many people who have threads here. After the initial shockhorror, it must occur to them they are now internationally famous. Strangers care what they did today, talk about their wardrobe and meal choices, would notice if they lived or died. That's pretty amazing stuff in an otherwise losery life.

There are people who fall in love with their schizophrenia because, with it, they're the center of an international conspiracy that involves the FBI and the CIA and goodness knows what lizard people and without it, they're just sad, sick, lonely people on meds that make them feel awful.

Y'know, I did make bots, generators, and crap like that to amuse my friends when I was a teenager. There is a minimal level of skill involved in it, in that you have to be aware of what kinds of concepts and phrases will be funny to your target audience. Sort of like trolling - anyone can do it, but to be successful, you have to be aware of what would make the subject tick, and how far to go before you look like more of an idiot than them. And also like trolling, bots are fun as a diversion, but only someone completely devoid of anything meaningful going on in their life would attempt to make it their entire living.

The thing with Nora is that she is not quite delusional. She is mostly just dishonest. For example I don't think she really believes that I'm a "stalker" and I don't think she believes that Randi "sicced a hate group" on her, either. She just repeats these messages over and over for the group of gullible idiots who associate with her. Remember her dad is a journo and she is well aware of how to use spin and framing to shape messaging.

But creating a narrative to get validation from the hapless is only part of her spiel. What she is really looking for when she makes these outrageous claims is conflict (meaning: anything which is not unconditional surrender on Nora's terms). Then she comes into her own, because she hates anything which does not validate her, and hate is what truly gets her going. She will attack people for weeks, then continue months or even years later. This is what is happening to Randi right now and I'm sure she'll attack Shanley again, once she has collected and brainwashed a sufficient number of idiots for support.

Well said. A great example of shit you can do with tools like twine or similar story-stringing-together apps is Fallen London. Far better than some of the stuff I see some of these twittards crowing about.
As to her bots, can't you pretty much make a twitter "bot" with a google docs sheet and some basic function codes?
