I went through chapter 1 with a moderate amount of specificity and it's genuinely awful. To paraphrase my overall thoughts, before I started I was worried it was mostly just going to be boring if not through his own merits then through the grace of an editor, which would cause me to not have much to talk about. Instead he writes with the creative chutzpah of an elementary student who's seen a few sci-fi shows/movies but hasn't actually done any research and with the technical acumen of me casually chatting at people on Discord. When I paraphrase the work I can't help but try to spice up the prose because the only spice that he uses himself is errors. The third person narrator directly addresses the reader and randomly interjects facts and explanations for things that haven't come up in the story. Rather than not having enough to talk about I had to actively focus on only the most interesting things because if I tried to make a point of breaking everything down that was just wrong I'd just be rewriting it page-by-page. I was actually considering rewriting the first chapter because, at least at that point, it's not wholly unsalvageable and it had two ideas I actually liked, even if they were executed in awful ways. While I was harsh I did try to be as fair as I could. I haven't found any sheer lunacy, just a lack of creativity and technical prowess, but I'm also not terribly far in

This is exactly what is the most puzzling thing to me about Rick.
I don't consider myself a busy body, by any means. But I simply cannot fathom the amount of time that this man wastes, daily, correcTing the record. What sort of life is that to live? Even when he is on a vacation, convention, sports event, ect, he is posting nonstop. There is no way this man can be present and enjoying his life.
