Also because he felt that the common German and especially the German soldier were betrayed by the government buckling under what he considered communist pressure and ending the war, and then the treatment of veterans afterwards. He felt like they were used by the government and then discarded and beaten down as if they were some kind of shameful stain on the country when the war ended, like in most countries post WW1.

Y'know, just like Henri, Pippa's most loyal soldier, was used for his 79 cents multiple times and for her most fierce battles, and was then treated like garbage, and sent to the ban stalag, wrote his manifesto (in the form of a Linkin Park song parody), and then was let out, and he caused even more damage to himself and his surroundings.

This was a big part of it as well and why Hitler had so much military support early on. I think it was during the first failed march where Goring got shot that Hitler had some high ranking generals in his ranks and the authorities refused to open fire on the pockets of people lead by those generals and veterans as they were held in high esteem by the people.

A lot of Hitler's success was really the result of other parties being unwilling to just let people live peacefully and retain their independence. It's also annoying that people pretend like Hitler's hatred or actions were unique, when the Soviet Union next door had cannibal islands for their political prisoners, and religious groups are usually the first to be persecuted in most dictatorships.
