As I understand it, Rowling said something along the lines of “trans women are forcing real women out of jobs/making them uncomfortable” or something to that effect and mentioned the whole “biological sex is a thing” and Twitter lost their shit and claimed she was an evil trans-hating bigot that wants to gleefully murder them all and so on.

It was one of the best games to come out on Win95.Tenma playing I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream was such great entertainment. I was quickly reminded of why I never finished it. Her rage at the characters repeatedly narrating their actions was my favorite part.

Because she’s saying bad thing about trans people, this somehow makes people everywhere want to hurt and kill trans people. Because anything anyone ever does badly to someone who is trans is because of anyone and everyone who has a bad opinion of trans people. A teenage trans girl got stabbed to death the past week after being constantly bullied, and Twitter is claiming it’s the fault of anyone who bout HogwartsLegacy, no joke.

She's only making profit in so far as the Harry Potter universe is her intellectual IP and has been collecting royalty checks for any real media based off of it. People have said that she's donating to senators in Texas to fund anti trans bills (which was illegal the last time I checked, by the way), but no one's offered any real proof other than connecting names to things.
They're also connecting the horrible murder of a trans girl (who doesn't have anything to do with the game other than trans person murdered) to Hogwarts Legacy and the supposed "hateful" comments JK Rowling made regarding the existence of biological reality. Men are men, and women are women. One can't become the other. I'm paraphrasing, but that's what she essentially said that has these faggots in a tizzy.
