It's very telling, isn't it? I was bored and thinking about it and... We already know this, but Richard is trying to play a role and he's doing a very poor job of it. Not as bad as ADF, Phoenix or whomever else... But it is like a stereotype and it always end up sexist and insulting to natural born women. They do not know what even being human is, so I have no idea how they can decide to take on these personas. Other than autism, obviously.

I looked it up, because I wasn't sure either. It appears to be a hairpiece that doesn't come all the way up over the crown of the head, kind of like a false ponytail or something. It adds length and volume, but only in the back.

Richard: your hair problem isn't that your hair isn't long enough. It's that there isn't enough of it to cover your steadily expanding bald spot. Lots of women wear wigs. It's okay to admit follicle defeat and actually remediate the problem.

You'd think 'passing as my chosen gender in public' would be top of his List of Things That Feel Good, but Richard has some messed up priorities.

Getting a half wig would make the problem worse. I believe he has a balding spot in the back of his head as well, but that's not really what he needs to cover up...

He doesn't realize (or maybe he does) that he would pass incredibly well if he got a wig. Sure, I don't think people would find him attractive very often, but if he got a wig, no one would give him a second glance. No one would notice him.

Oh, I think I answered my own question?

It's kind of funny how many female Kiwis have given Fire really good pointers as to how to "woman" better (different makeup application, getting a wig to cover up some of the forehead-- for God's sake, Fire, pulling your hair back away from from your face is not the answer!-- clothing suggestions and care), but I guess they don't like the source, so.
