He isn't a modern Oedipus Rex. Oedipus for one had no idea he was having sex with his mom, and when he found out he killed himself. Chris showed no shame in raping Barb and if he's going to kill himself in prison it will most likely be because he can't live without his toys or something rather than disgust for his own actions.

Apparently it's the maximum term for the charge alleged. In this case... 10 years. They can continuance this motherfucker until they all retire and the next poor saps inherit this shit storm. Fuck sickos.

At least in the most famous version by Sophocles, his mother killed herself, but Oedipus blinded himself and went into exile.

Counterargument: Psychopaths have a normal distribution of intelligence, but the ones we catch are the stupid ones.
But certainly, the idea that serial killers are intelligent is an invention of writers to make stories about crime more interesting.
