Disney Adults / Disneymania

Adult fans of Disney are absolute lunatics. Two examples being the fans of marvel's capeshit universe or the Reylo fags, Disney fans have got a load of batshit in store for you.

Went over, and they have an LGBT board, this was the first thread I saw.

Reylos can be dumb and extra but in my experience FinnReys are the most violently insane ST shippers. Check the shipping drama thread for more coverage.

As a broke millennial, I'm not sure how other millennials are affording multiple Disney trips a year unless they have rich parents.

Not to get all incel....actually, lets.

You notice a clear gender line in this Disney shit right? i know a few men have been brought up, but the bulk is clearly women. Some of the men are even pretending to be women, crazy huh. Well what is it about Disney land that is so appealing to women, or at least a subset of women. Its a very good representation of what a woman wants of the world. This is the ideal in which they would thrive. Think about it, nothing negative exists in the magic kingdom. No realistic threat of violence (except from the blacks, they are based at times). Not even potentially uncomfortable thoughts need to show up, its all references to clean and sanitised media products. Everyone is meant to smile, they all use that gay uplifting music to "reveal" their time in the park. Its pure fantasy, escapism of the highest order.

You have to wonder what the brand even stands for, its so large in scope its become vague. Massive media producer is hardly anything you could hang a religion around.

It’s pretty important to talk about residential living in Disney. Especially this case of a man killing his entire family after getting caught committing fraud by the FBI. Dude has to be one of the biggest criminal lolcows it’s heard about in a long time.

The article

Dreading did a video on this case and read the guy’s prison letters out loud if you want to know more.

I looked her up and she has this hilarious video.

Believe it or not the video is about her having a hard time hiking (because she's fat).

This is definitely a death fat worthy of her own thread for those who are fattie enthusiasts.

edit: she has a thread https://kiwifarms.net/threads/anna-o-brien-glitter-lazers-glitterandlazers.66801/
She’s looks like a Roald Dahl villain

The irony of the left loving Disney is 20/30 years ago the left fucking DESPISED Disney, they saw it as the personification of everything wrong with America, no urban leftist would have been caught dead being a Disney fan 20 years ago.

There was a brief window of time around 2004 where it was incredibly uncool to like Disney among the wider culture as a whole, things started to change by the end of the decade and it was hip to like them again, but today criticizing Disney is seen as coming from a right wing angle.

It would have made commies of the 90s and 00s puke to see a commie Disney fan.
It fits, because most of those people today view the whole world like a theme park, and other people like rides and exhibits that can be swapped out or changed if they stop pleasing the visitors. And they love bowdlerized and homogenized media. If only there was a John Hammond prize for lack of foresight in public policy.

Everything I’ve heard/watched about Disney parks makes it seem like it’s not even worth it to go there, except to earn a bit of street credit among social influencers.

I don’t see the appeal of going to what is essentially an overpriced colorful shopping mall with rides and Disney characters running around.

I might’ve considered checking it out with 2007 prices, but it seems like the cost has skyrocketed so much that your average working class family is priced out.

I’m curious to see if Disney adults have anything to do with the sky rocketing pricing.

Disney adults are why there's no "off season" at the parks anymore. It used to be that during the months with no school holidays, you could go to the parks for relatively cheap and with less people around. Nowadays? It's crowded and expensive year round.

It doesn’t seem worth it at all—most of the “cool stuff” has been recorded for YouTube videos. Why would I spend thousands to go to some other state to see animatronic princesses when I can watch for free at home?
Only major theme park I ever considered trying outside my state is the Harry Potter section of Universal but I’m not that desperate to see a fake castle.

Disney can be fun, especially as a parent when you have that 5 to 9 year old on their first visit and they get wide eyed at everything.

They also put legit effort into everything you see with Easter Eggs and little nods. They have some legit good rides. Guardians is really fucking good (even if its in the wrong park). Rise is overrated but does some cool shit with making the line part of the ride and the experience. The problem is the price point has gotten insane. 9 dollars for 2 eggrolls. 6 dollars for a bottle of coke. 120 bucks for a ticket on a cheap day and it goes up to 200. Plus you have to pay 20 bucks for genie plus if you want to get on any rides that are popular and not wait at least 30 minutes.

To put things in perspective. The Starbucks at Magic Kingdom charges normal Starbucks prices for the most part. Its the cheapest place to get a drink.

in regards to Universal. Nobody gives a shit about the Harry Potter castle. Its all about diagon alley. Which puts everything Disney has done before and sense to shame when it comes to immersion. They tried with the Star Wars land. And fucked it up by putting you in sequel trilogy original theme park ip world instead of just making Mos Eisley.

Adding onto this because these Easter Eggs are both great, and a reason why Disney adults adore the parks so much. Compared to most things in media, Theme parks change slowly because it's very time consuming to replace a ride or attraction. It's why so many attractions keep alive dead or unused franchises or become franchises themselves. Space Mountain is still Space Mountain from decades ago and Pocahontas still has a live show despite the movie being three decades old and a commercial failure. A disney adult can still go to these parks and while some aspects may be different, the structure will always be there barring a massive cultural shift. Fueling that nostalgia in a way most IRL locations can't

Umm... Winnie the Pooh is a teddy bear. He's smaller than Christopher Robin. These people are not "Pooh sized".

This guy looks like he throws angry crying fits over villains in Disney films because they remind him of the bullies that harassed him in high school.
Sometimes bullying is justified.

After seeing the Glitterandlazers photos from the park, I immediately thought they meant the Pooh costume.

The only “Disney youtuber” that reviews park stuff I like is Brightsunfilms since he gives his honest opinion. Watching him talk about this $900 room astounded me. The interior for it looked like it could charge $300 at most not $900.
Holy guacamole.

Either retards are taking out loans to go on these trips or only the super rich are going on Disney cruises holy shit
Wanna know something that broke my brain?
These aren't even the "super rich".
The kind of people who can drop massive amounts of money for shit like this:
Or this:
are not really "the super rich", they're just more wealthy than the rest of us. Someone who is truly wealthy isn't going to be dropping money on a concierge Disney cruise. They take their own yachts, or hang out for free on their friend's boats or take their friends and family's planes and stay at each other's vacation homes.
Once you hit a certain level of wealth, you don't actually spend that much money, and you end up being able to stay wealthy and make more money because of it.

Disney cruise is about as much as a disney vacation. They do deals still on it that make it lets call it achievable if not affordable. About 2 grand for a 4 night cruise for a family of 4 was a deal they had going late last year. Right now its about 3 grand.
