It's not just "in Harry Potter," Tumblr poster. It is standard lore about unicorns going back thousands of years. Unicorns like females, specifically virgin ones. If you want to lure a unicorn, according to legend, you get a female virgin to sit in a forest, and the unicorn will come to her and put its head in her lap.

My post even included an explanation of the joke. I thought that would be enough, but then I remembered this is a forum for neurodivergents.

I've given it a bit of thought while compiling this post, and I've come to the conclusion that satire might in fact be dying, but not for the reasons you think it is. It's because Western culture in the social media age has bifurcated into at least two groups of, oftentimes opposing, social norms - to the point where normal behaviour in the eyes of one group reads as over-the-top satirical to the people in the other, and vice versa.

Leftoids in 2015-16, for example, declared that the Trump campaign was the stuff of satire, while rightoids in 2020-21 said the same about Black Lives Matter. Both of these had serious people arguing for them. My point is not to say who's correct or not, but when the other side of politics is routinely making serious points that sound satirical, it becomes all too easy for a satire of their position to sound like something they'd actually say.

Anyway, here's something I found on Facebook that may or may not illustrate this point. I thought this was satirical at first, given it was originally posted to /r/GamingCirclejerk, but a quick glance through that sub reveals the main target of their mockery is chud gamers, so it checks out.

If you read the comments, they are mostly just mourning/expressing rage that a trans girl was murdered. To be fair, most do not reference the game, even indirectly. But it's worth highlighting the ones that do:
