Chantal Sarault / Chantal Al-Refae / Foodie Beauty - Delusional drug fiend hamplanet mukbanger from Canada trying to be a glamorous online influencer. Pathological liar, huge bitch, narcissist, animal abuser

Her grandma raised her from age 3 to 13, so I think most of the blame has to go to her. There's a reason why Chantal "loved" her; she gave her what she wanted. I don't know the extent to which Kim was present during this critical time in her development, and she probably plays some role. But it was Kim and New Dad who sent her to both a fat farm and a psych hospital not long after reabsorbing her into the nuclear family, moves that Chantal did not appreciate. I don't think there is much 'tough love' in this family, but I've always seen grandma as the enabler who gave Fatso cupcakes to make her stop hollering.
I'm unsure why so many people are accusatory toward Kim and Audrey regarding Chantal. Chantal has told the stories of how her female relatives tried to hold her in check, especially regarding food, yet it seems like the narrative that they enabled her continually persists. The only genuinely specific enabler we've really seen in action is Phyllis and she's a side character in Chantal's life at best.

ETA: I got my lore confused. It was her paternal grandparents who were involved in the sneaking food/pudding stories Chantal told. I edited the following paragraph to reflect the correct players.

When Chantal spoke of food and her grandmother, she revealed that her grandfather was the one who encouraged her eating. Her grandmother would give her a pudding cup as a snack, Chantal would eat it, and ask for more. Grandma would tell her no, TABARNAK, she just ate pudding, go play and stop asking for food. Chantal would then go to grandpa, beg him for food, and he'd get her whatever she wanted behind her grandmother’s back. Her grandmother was always annoyed when she discovered this, according to Chantal, who clearly relished the memory of a man helping her sneak food. Old timers will recall Chantal telling the story of how when she was living in the group home, she would break into her mother's house and eat all the food she was able to get her hands on. She learned very early that she could assert her will and comfort herself eating, and it seems like grandpa helping her defy her grandmother set that stage - defiance to feed any sort of hunger.

Without getting too far into the conversation about genetics that took place upthread, the fact is hundreds of thousands of kids in North America grow up in families where older females handle the childcare while the mothers go out to work. A lot of those mothers are single and very young. Yet miraculously few of those families create Chantals. Chantal probably has a genetic load that leaned toward addiction and a lack of impulse control. Combine that with a dynamic wherein a male family member encouraged subterfuge regarding food and defiance of female control, if we are going to blame anyone for current Chantal, we can lay a lot of the blame at Daddy fucking off quickly and grandpa for encouraging her to break rules the females made AND centering that defiance on food.

Chantal tells stories of how her mother tried to control her. We see her setting boundaries in real time often. Yet people beat her with the cudgel of maternal love at every turn, as if Chantal were Karla Homolka and Kim should cut her off cold due to her behaviors. Mothers find it hard to cut ties with kids, and Chantal has not killed her sister, tortured Buster to death, stolen all her family's money for drugs, broken into their homes as an adult, or any other aggressive illegal behaviors in their presence. The issue with Audrey's obituary was caused by shitheads who hate Chantal - Chantal never linked to her grandmother's obituary. We-ens found it on their own and defaced it. While Chantal's notoriety caused those people to focus on her, she is hardly to blame for the a-logging toward her grandmother, and few mothers would completely cut their daughter off because of it. But that is one of the main reasons people give for why her family should outright disown her.

Much is made of little things Kim does, like getting Chantal food gift cards as gifts, but I see that as an act of grim acknowledgement that there is little purpose in getting her anything but food or Lush. Remember that nice wrap-around shawl/scarf Chantal's sister got her for 2021 Christmas? When Chantal got stuck in America after she failed to see Nader at the trap, she blew her nose on it repeatedly as she sobbed in the mall parking lot, then tossed it in the back of the KIA where is likely sits to this day. There's no sense in even pretending Chantal can be the recipient of nice things, and if it's enabling, it's pretty mild enabling.

But even so, let's go over the ways we were told Kim corrected Chantal or we can see tacitly that she has done so:
--Kim forbade Chantal to see her older, married boyfriend, and held firm even after the fake suicide attempt.

--She sent Chantal away to receive psychiatric care and left her in the group home, and there were a number of reasons for it but it happened and it is far more than most mothers of antisocial teen girls will do.

--After the "I'm proud of you" phone call where Chantal put her on the spot and played live her mother tepidly telling her that yes, she is proud of her, Chantal never broadcast another phone call with her or any other family member.

--Chantal is forbidden from filming her mother for her channel and was audibly stiff and unpleasant when Chantal insisted on filming at Natalie's birthday but made sure she didn't show her mother. When she "oops!" panned to her mother, Kim noticed and called it out and Chantal behaved the rest of the time she was there.

--No man since Bibi has been permitted into the Landry home. Nader was absolutely persona non grata.

--Chantal was disinvited to holiday celebrations in Christmas 2021. Her family only celebrated holidays with her when she appeared to have dumped Nader, only to withdraw again when she got back with him.

--Kim routinely posts across social media events that Chantal was clearly not welcome at and we know she wasn't at those events and just cropped out to avoid online drama because she was generally online when they occurred.

--Chantal's family is tense around her to the point that Chantal wanders around family events, annoying the animals, filming and yammering about basic decor, while her family hangs out and plays cards and games (her family really liked Bibi - at a Thanksgiving gathering at her Uncle's house, Chantal panned to her family sitting at the table, happily chatting with Bibi as he shuffled the cards for the next hand).

--It appears as if Chantal got tossed from her mother's house after losing it online because she's too dumb to know what Google Maps is, and now the image online is blurred. Her stay at her mother's, which she told us was because it was too tense and dirty at the villa, was clearly meant to last longer because the villa was just as filthy and tense when she returned.

--Kim was openly annoyed at Chantal when she was trying to care for Audrey. Chantal had stayed over with Kim, and when she woke she immediately began pestering Kim for breakfast. Kim actually snapped at her on camera, again angry that Chantal was filming when Kim was in her night clothes and in the middle of caring for her dying mother.

tl;dr: Her family pushes back a lot. Chantal is barely in their lives. There is little evidence that Kim let her get away with much when she was young. If we blame her upbringing on anyone, her defiance and food issues habits seem to have originated with her interactions with her grandfather.

An Advertivisment for the lesser known and very fun Chantal fan art thread.

All art will be over there in the containment thread going forward. It’s full of all types of glory and horror, when you feel in the mood to go see, or contribute when the muse strikes.

To weigh in on the nature vs nurture argument, I don’t doubt that she was subjected to shitty parenting and bullying as well. It’s not a great start in life, but plenty, I mean PLENTY of people grow up better for having learnt how to deal with a shitty life early on.
Chantal was FUBAR genetically. Strange funcle-baby facial features, narrow pallet with tooth abnormalities, weird fat distribution, strange hands and feet, and was probably handed down genes involved in addiction, depression and who knows what lurks in the this genetic Cornwallian shrub.
Whatever parenting she had or didn’t have, she was a bad-egg from the start. She was born too narcissistic to get therapy for any of her other problems….so here we are.

About todays video. Did we notice that she really didn’t want BBJ to jump up in front of the camera? She actually was annoyed “she didn’t want to before and as soon as the camera is on she wants to get up”. And, discouraging her…”I don’t want her up on the kitchen counter whilst I eat breakfast.” Are you kidding? She has never worried about that before. Ever.

She didn’t want us to see BBJ jump up onto the counter. She’s not blind. She’s not deaf ( She looks over when called), she is engaged in her surroundings. And she was tucking into her food hungrily in a recent video. I hope that’s not because she’s not being given enough, but it doesn’t matter for the assessment. This cat is eating heartily, is spry, strong, alert and not “on its last legs” or “ready to go”

Don’t even try this, Chantal. This is a lie that will not fly.

She is being lubby duby and I cannot chat sneed.
She just said she feels like a MILF/ cougar!

She is going to get another plant in Kuwait. Salah got her a plant before nd she kept them alive for "a little while."

Bubble tea is premiering a follow up on the windex perfume scam. This one seems less investigative and more like a summary of the situation and side characters for people who haven't been paying attention so far.

She showed a full conversation with the company.

I always had this in the back of my mind that she was going to be killed by Salah if she ever got 'married' to him.
I thought that Kuwait was so progressive that beating the shit out of your wife was frowned upon.

Hope you don't talk back too much, fatty. He looks like he will do 10 times worse than Nader once the ink is officially dry on your documents.

She’s talking about hotel beezing after she ditches the villa.

BBJ’s vet appointment is the 22nd. It’s sounding more and more like BBJ is a goner ❤️ I can’t believe she thinks she’s going to kill her cat, then open up her house to the internet the next day, and! expect everyone to be excited to hotel beeze with her right afterward. She is so profoundly retarded it’s almost shocking.

If she is leaving in a week and a half where is she going to send BBJ? Why go to the vet if you plan on giving him away? I am thinking the vet appointment is to put him down. Either that or its going to the shelter.

Since I don't have a reply button for you I'll address your most recent post from here ;)
I quite enjoyed the read however I believe you're taking the comments about mom and grandma too seriously.
I DO feel bad for Chantal's extended family being pulled into her drama. I personally believe it's brought on here because of the way SHE became so outspoken about mothering, parenthood, children- none of which she has personally experienced. We also know she reads here, I think alot of it is directed at HER eyeballs..."payback".
Also, considering the childhood/youth tales she told about her own behavior, I don't feel grandpa was necessarily overstepping grandma. His own kids were grown and gone. From Chantal's description of herself, she was a very persistent, whining, selfish child/youth. I doubt she ever volunteered that grandma had already said no.
I get the impression that Aunt Phyllis was more chummy than Auntie. I don't know why. Perhaps we'll find out if Phyllis ever keeps more distance than she has so far.

Dunno if it means anything or is merely coincidence, but after her day off following Murad and Alaa's stream, she seems to have reverted to precisely one-hour streams. This is interesting because Salah used to limit her livestreams to no longer than an hour, and she obeyed that edict for awhile. Then, as she grew more comfortable with reverting more and more to her old ways, her streams started going over an hour again. She'd delete them immediately afterwards (possibly to hide them from Salah). Then, they got even longer, and she no longer deleted them immediately. Then she got back home and it was food and drugs and rages and displays of immodesty and really long livestreams, all of which do seem to bother Salah on some level. Then, she was publicly getting snippy with Salah.

Seeing Murad acting chummy with her sworn enemy Alaa must have gotten under her skin. More to the point, it may have bothered Salah. I am suspecting that words were exchanged between them. Whatever transpired, it seems to have left her depressed, insecure, and needy. It also seems to have had the effect of making her limit her streams to precisely one hour again.

I suspect that her somewhat gloomy mood today is because she is starting to sense that she is losing control of the narrative, which is always the thing she hates to happen most. She is starting to sense on some dim level that things might be on the verge of falling apart, which should be a familiar-enough feeling to her since everything in her life does fall apart. Too many people from too many directions are saying too many things, and it is unsettling her. So she is dialing back her behavior again (on camera; I do think she was stoned all day yesterday and today), and toeing Salah's line again for livestream length. She has ratcheted up talk about his being her "soul mate", which she always lays on thick when she is feeling insecure. She did that with Bibi and Nader too.

This return "home" to Kuwait is looking like a worse and worse idea, and now she is starting to worry. She plasters over that worry with dope and lies to herself that she believes. But the worries remain, and they are gnawing at her right now.

It's also worth noting that the grandma wasn't Audrey, it was the grandmother on her father's side who always told her no in French to the extra pudding cup. I think her father was out of the picture at the time, but it was his mother would take care of her when she was a wee asshole.

Another indication of how her mother didn't give her everything she wanted is the story she told about stealing money from her babysitter to get an 18 piece bucket of KFC because her mother wouldn't allow it.

As for her last live, her need for constant coddling is beyond annoying. She wants to live a life of zero responsibilities but expects everyone to fawn over her. King Beezer bit off more than he could chew. I wonder how much longer he's willing to hang in.

Not gonna disagree with the sentiment since I have seen her deformed feet, but the weird narrow pallet is her own doing.

Seems like a good time for a progress report on Chantal's deformed mouth, now with even more deformity!

Let us remember the situation as of two years ago
Age 20, Feb 2017, and yesterday.

Chantal's pallet went from normal as a young adult to visibly narrowed in 2017 and extremely narrow as of early 2021.

A narrow pallet can be caused by:
  • Having teeth removed and not replaced. When you have teeth removed and don't replace them with an implant, the jaw no longer needs to support as many teeth and gets smaller. Her dentist told her to get replacement teeth for the ones that were pulled and she did nothing.
  • Untreated sleep apnea. Most people breath out of their nose, but people who breath out of their mouth (due to untreated sleep apnea for example), don't hold their tongue in the correct position, up against the roof of the mouth. This causes the jaw to narrow.
2023 Update

In 2023 the left side of Chantal's pallet seems similar to 2021, but the right side appears to have started caving in on itself. The asymmetrical nature of her mouth deformity makes it even more hideous than it was before. You can't even see the teeth next to her incisors on the right side.

Crudely drawn progress over the years looks something like this:

Like most things in Chantal's life, this situation is entirely a result of her own laziness and defiance.

Yes! The grandma in that story was her father's mom who died when she was young. I can't focus on the rest because that was wrong out of the gate.

I don't think anyone's proposing Kim literally gave her everything she wanted. But what were the consequences of her stealing that money? She got the chicken she wanted. I'm sure mom screamed at her and reimbursed the babysitter. And then what? You really think Chantal would keep it to herself if she was grounded or had her allowance garnished to repay the babysitter? What were the consequences to anything, ever?

This kind of generational dysfunction is something that is pretty common and a real bitch to correct. Like, this precise pattern of shitty parenting by cluster B personality disorders ushering in the next generation of cluster B personality disorders is something you see allllll the time. How much is nature or nurture is another discussion altogether, but there's no denying that a lot of skills that BPD cunts have to learn in their DBT classes are things they really should have learned as children.

As someone else observed, it's not unusual for extended family to assist in childrearing and it often works out great for all involved. But one set of these particular grandparents raised a 16 year old girl who (allegedly) got pregnant on purpose, and the other set of grandparents raised a son who was described as a food addict and alcoholic before he was 20. The grandparents were fucked up, they raised fucked up kids, and those kids created a super fucked up Chantal, who was then handed right back to the fucked up grandparents to raise. This is not normal, but the outcome is very predictable. To this day, Chantal "rages" and rants and gets shit off her chest and then expects everything to go back to normal. Even her back-and-forth with Shannon has these earmarks of "blow up --> honeymoon phase --> BFFs --> building resentment --> blow up". That's a learned behavior. That's how conflict was dealt with in that family. I guarantee it. Chantal has zero boundaries and doesn't understand the boundaries of others. And this fact is not inconsistent with Kim telling her enough's enough and she can't stay there anymore. The fact that there's a consequence now, and Kim isn't bailing out her 40 year old abortion from her latest bankruptcy, is nice. Good work, Kim. Should've started sooner, but gold star.

I don't get why everyone wants to insist that Chantal was just born evil and no one could have done anything to prevent the trainwreck we see before us. That doesn't mean Kim and Audrey were actually the evil ones and that they ruined a perfectly innocent child -- just that they were supremely fucked as well and the average child left in their care would have zero chance of growing up to be an emotionally-mature adult. Toss in some questionable genetics and maybe some environmental pressures (nutrition, drugs, lead in the water, whatever) et voila.

The whole fucking family is demented, to various degrees. It took them three generations to breed a prize cow, but Chantal didn't happen in a vacuum.

Edit: And before anyone goes there, yes, Chantal is an adult and she really needs to act like one. Starting with getting her health (mental and physical) under control, followed closely by her finances, and ultimately getting some serious therapy to figure out why she's throwing herself at romance scammers in a desperate attempt to feel loved. She's no longer her mother's responsibility, and hasn't been for decades.

BUT ALSO! I'm glad she hasn't, and I'm glad that this perfect storm of nature and nurture came together in small-town Ontario, because we get a demented gunt demon to laugh at. When she's not being boring, that is. These discussions only happen when we have nothing better to do, so GET TO THE ENTERTAINMENT ALREADY.
