I took it more as just a wink and a nod to the controversy since putin compared russia and Rowling and now both these games had similar backlash for associations with canceled people, maybe the light playful insinuation that this was more for people wanting adrenaline shooting and blood vs wizardry and magic
I don't think building your life on trying to win everyone's approval, and putting people in evil outgroups if they contradict a group you value more, is a healthy way to live. Just because you feel bad for their country and would prefer you not anger them doesn't mean if they get upset it's the end all be all. Victims can still be dicks or just have opinions you disagree with. Sometimes you got to go with what you think is correct even over opinions that might have more immediate social capital and better optics on a surface level.
Otherwise you get retarded shit like slurs being better with an a instead of an er or whether a group should be able to call themselves slurs to own the word even as they become more not less sensitive to it

Game looks fun. will buy.
However a lot of the action sequences I've seen look poorly animated. Like there's a lot going on that doesn't make sense and over dramatic. Those sequences remind of your average FPS from 2010.

Despite geopolitical and sex memes, it really is an enjoyable experience.
+ The melee sort of reminded me of dying light which is one of my favorite FPS melee games.
+ The environments are especially well done and the boss fights are truly innovative and challenging
+ Soundtrack is Mick Gordon so it’s a banger as per usual.
- The dialogue is weird and can be annoying, which I actually expected for a foreign company (Japanese games have the same shit, they won’t shut up)
- Also if you’re not a puzzle person it can be bothersome.
Overall 8/10 it’s fun

After watching some playthroughs this only cements my view that slav games are much like their literature. Utter dogshit only praised by emo commies who view Morrowind with AIDS (Pathologic) as a profound statement instead of evidence of complete artistic and technical incompetence which it is. The universal fact remains that the only good artists brought upon this world by eastern yuroniggers are Weird Al and Beksinski. Weird Al could burn every copy of books by hacks like Tolstoy and Dostoyevsky and the world would rejoice. Weasel Stomping Day has more artistic merit than Tolstoy could conjure in 50 lifetimes.

Played the retail version after playing some of the debug version. Biggest difference is combat is easier now and puzzles are harder.

I've played enough Russian games that I'm saying "yeah that'd definitely sound a lot better in Russian" every ten minutes. They really should have given everyone cheesy accents.
I tried it with RU audio initially but it's one of those games where you find audio logs constantly to give you something to listen to while you do other shit so trying to follow subtitles during a fight would be a drag.
Fun so far, whoever compared the intro to Bioshock was a moron though. I thought that part was pretty sweet (the first twenty minutes of actual gameplay ironically not so much, but it gets rolling pretty soon). Beyond that though yeah, it's totally Bioshock.
But one refreshing difference I'm appreciating is how unlike Rapture etc being kinda seedy and everything pointing to them being doomed to fail, this world seemed pretty on-track with all their cool toys and shit. These soviets wanted to terraform venus and stuff and from the looks of things, present scenario aside, they could totally have done it.

Playing on Series X and whilst the first hour or so was kinda slow I'm really enjoying now.
