This confirms my theory that the new property has the smart ID card system. That's why she thought it was "too complicated". Probably the other property had the online transfer set up. (I explained it here) this is why, unlike the other property, where you have an old meter, they get a "grace period" after the cut off date to clear the account. If you miss the payment with the smart meters lights go out immediately but that's ok since you can just pay and restore service without having to wait for the guy to show up.

with those smart meters you have to visit the ATM's since you have to store payment information on the smart card and then tap it to the meter so the meter knows you paid off.

by the way, that shit is criminal spousal abuse. She REALLY needs to get out of there.
