It's human nature to see another person in an extremely shitty situation/getting hollered at by a drunk, violent retard and feel something like pity. It's just a knee-jerk reaction. In the past month or so I find myself feeling that way and then remind myself that it's May and if anyone deserves it, it's her.

It's a weird progression where Ralph used to be fun to laugh at just for doing retarded stuff because of his ego > still fun to laugh at because he does stupid shit but now he's kind of ruining his own life > other people come into the picture irl and now they're doing embarrassing stuff for attention, still funny > Ralph ruining their lives too but all they're all useless or shitty people so it's still funny > there's a child living in the house with the Gunt at his absolute worst and even though laughing at him is still fun, it's pretty grody and feels like someone could die at any moment.

Ralph has sunk into complete depravity in just a few years. He's always been a piece of shit but it's a shift from the way he used to be entertaining. Seeing him drunkenly holler at other IBS-related personalities is way different than whatever this current arc is. If you followed him from his most successful days on the Killstream, it's even weirder.

Also, after it's over (Ralph dies, Harry rescues May, whatever) May will absolutely try to get pity. She'll spin herself into a victim however she can. Unfortunately, I think some people will fall for it.
