Its simpler then that. Hipsters have the money. Middle to upper class and great consumers who love saying they support movements to look good. Cater to them and boom, $$$. If they wanted to be in on it, they'd start being part of it more.

Which may be why hipsters are so loathed, spending lots of money to get in the ground floor of a movement they missed, doing it half-assed, and unironically being pretentious about their contributions.

A thing about Cracked is that to be even more clickbait-y, they'll actually post the article, then roughly halfway through the day they'll re-title it to get more views or whatever. Happens on almost every single one.

Whether or not it's more honest or more or less relevant to the subject.

The URL doesn't change though, so you can look at it and see what the original title was.

On the whole "Social Justice is a marketers wet dream" debate, I'm kinda wondering when/if someone will realize that baiting these people is almost as effective as catering to them.

For instance, in some spitball comedy about two collage students or something, have some real anti-feminist MRA-Marijan type say something along the lines of "Femnism? Fuck Feminism!"

Boom. Ten articles about why MOVIE X is such a horrid piece of shit (dispite being a compotent comedy), five defending it, fuckballs loads of publicity. It's like what the director for Fury Road did by labeling his movie a "Feminist Movie". You know, like how Aliens is a feminist movie!
