Not because of practical value, but as a memento of all the fun I've had watching his videos and streams for close to a decade. But while kiwi merch would remind me of good times, a 4 star hat would just remind me of embarrassing Jim orbiters.

I just look at it as Jim seemingly desperate for money to fund his medical bills and weeb habit. Either he just flat out lied about not wanting to ever have merch, or he saw it as a way to subsidize his dying days.
