SO, LOCALS WAS HIJACKED BY A SPAMMER FOR 4 HOURS YESTERDAY...

So a SPAMMER (who's clearly part of Nick's fandom/anti-fandom) took over the chat for four hours yesterday morning (7am-11am eastern). I'm gonna try to dump my screenshots into these black box bucket things y'all do so as not to take over the platform. Please be patient with this Xoomer... I'm learning.

It was pretty epic.

SYNOPSIS:

This spammer is named ' @ ' who is likely also SkylarTheCreator and maybe Hydropx (based on the rhythm of the spamming and who s/he let reply to him within brief breathers of spamming).

Nick has since banned ' @ '.

The spammer's agenda was smart-ish and goes like this:

"The chat is retarded [it is - mostly]! Locals is an unstable platform [it is]! It would only take a couple lines of code to fix it [I wouldn't know]! Chat is stupid to be calling for banning and a betrayal of libertarian values [sure...! Y'all are - deep down - minions to the deep state and libtards that will take over any free speech platforms [okay...?]! I WILL CONTROL YOU ALL [and spammer did, for hours - mad respect]."

Spammer also had a lot of conspiracy theories about how the Defense Dept and AI bots will control any free speech platform in the future, which... okay? Not my lane.

(Funny, the only chat regular there who seemed to get that the spammer has a point was clydefrog69 - a rare ray of intelligence over there. The confirmed retards - MrStirFry, ACompleteRandom, TurboGoat, Charlie, etc - just kept screaming for Nick or CGoody to ban ' @ ' during the brief moments when s/he would allow them to speak.)

MY TIN FOIL HAT THEORY:
The regulars on Locals REALLY want a mute/block feature - you're welcome, retards, I'll take some credit -and that underlined the spammer's agenda. This might have been planned to kick Locals' ass to create better chat features. Nick may even have been in on it. In any case, it was utter chaos.

I believe Locals must delete the username when an account has been deleted or banned, leaving just "@". I really doubt Locals would allow a blank username, but maybe I'm giving them too much credit.

I think he is pursuing a weird legal theory that he can get the SLAAP laws of other states enforced by a Minnesota state court in a minnesota state court case. So somehow the trial will be conducted using Illinois' Anti-SLAPP laws. Doesn't seem likely to me.
