I was expecting this game to start good and then turn to shit, but I was suprised that it looked to be a good game.
Didn't he say the movie was near completion? Hope it finally comes out and clear out time blocks. Also I think he had like 5 times when he said he'll bring someone to help him edit, only to eventually say it doesn't work out and he needed to do all the work from scratch.New long-ass December videochat with fans recently came out. He's more of a doomer than usual in this one (last ~2 months people everywhere have been in a bad mental state it seems, so this doesn't surprise me). Main highlights:
- Ross is getting mild writer's block with the next Freeman's Mind episode, which is why it's taken 7+ months. He's feeling guilty and said he would rather not release an episode instead of releasing one he deems poor quality. Starts at 1:18:25 .
- Game Dungeon now gets more views than Freeman's Mind. Says it at 1:19:05 .
- Ross PL'd/TMI-d about his wife Magda's anxiety issues. She "freezes up" doing a lot of day-to-day activities and Ross has to help her "pick up the slack" at home everyday. He even said he's the more functional one in the relationship (so users upthread who claimed she's a womanchild are 100% vindicated). He's a caretaker on top of being a perfectionist YouTuber with an odd work-life balance, hence the delays. Starts at 1:21:57 and ends at 1:22:48 .
We will get an xmas Game Dungeon in the next few days. As per Ross, all he told us is that "it has snow".
I was under the impression that movie was still only barely started.
In my opinion, he's being pretty overambitious with what he wants to do. From what I understand, he wants to animate an entire movie by himself using homemade motion capture. He's also a perfectionist, which probably means this thing will never be finished because he's going for something completely unfeasible.
Ross Scott is trying to become Yuri Norstein with "The Movie" being his version of "The Overcoat". Hopefully it doesn't take 41+ (and counting) years to complete...
A Game Dungeon on a game I actually played, a true Christmas miracle. The anime battle against an AI that shows up out of nowhere in the last part of the game was probably my fist "wait... what?" moment from a game.
Great episode for a game that is just obscure enough to be entertaining but not too much to be zero effort. I remember playing the game when I was younger and having zero idea what the fuck is happening, but liking how crazy it went. It's good to finally understand what's happening and how batshit it is.
I remember the demo for this game.
I think it's funnier if he works within the limitations of the game. Although, I do find the whole "create a new section of the map" thing to be pretty impressive. It was kind of a cop out to let him not jump the dam though.
Still in Ravenholm by the end but another 17 minutes of Freemans Mind is a win. I wonder when he's actually going to utilize the gravity gun? I assume he avoided using it in Ravenholm because it's the spot everyone else generally realizes it's use case. I wonder if he's actually saving it for the destruction of the citadel.
I really liked that episode. I was laughing the whole way through. Some of the episodes before had me only chuckle a bit but this one got me good.
