It seems like there are two different universes where this trial is happening. In Monty's lawyer's universe, MN is a fine jurisdiction (since Rekieta is there and the harm occurred there), and we're using Minnesota law. In Randazza's universe, we're not going to try to change venue, but we're going to try to pull in laws from the state where Monty lives when they are convenient, even if they are unconstitutional according to Minnesota. I guess we're going to see a preview of whose legal theory is more acceptable to a small town Minnesota judge.I think he is pursuing a weird legal theory that he can get the SLAAP laws of other states enforced by a Minnesota state court in a minnesota state court case. So somehow the trial will be conducted using Illinois' Anti-SLAPP laws. Doesn't seem likely to me.
In universe number 1, the only reason the address matters is in case Rekieta wants to try to remove the lawsuit to federal court. In universe number 2, you need his precise location for Randazza's 4D chess moves.
