Interestingly it quite literally is about the kind of "well intentioned" social engineering SJWs are heavily into. And it gives Phil Dick a run for his money in the reality-bending department.I would recommend her books if you like fantasy and science fiction. Her Earthsea saga is probably her most popular work but my personal favorite is "The Lathe of Heaven". It's about a man who can change reality with his dream and his psychiatrist trying to manipulate him to change the world for the better. There is a very creative solution to racism.
Avoid the recent movie, it is crap. However, PBS of all places did an adaptation a long time ago (1980) that is excellent, but good luck finding it as they had a license to a Beatles song that lapsed so it has been in copyright hell for decades.
