General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

But realistically I just think that genuine drama (like shit that isn't just some high school girl level shit "ooh can you believe x said y") is few and far between and even then it generally fizzles out pretty quickly which means threads on them would end up a couple pages and abandoned every time
I don't get why they wouldn't just use /vt/ for their petty drama needs. Its the schizos dramanigger's paradise.

I personally don't think there are any vtubers interesting enough to the general populace on KF to merit their own threads, which leads to the natural question of what the fuck would people even talk about that they can't here.
It has nothing to do with being able to say things you can't here. In fact, the reason Null and others have stated for keeping Vtubers as one thread is to limit spergery and unwanted discussion (like thirstposting). They are correct, and plus it saves the effort of having to make high quality OPs for every dime-a-dozen Vtuber.

The issue is that the thread is 7185 pages at the time of writing, but a new reader might only want to hear about Nyatasha Nyanners (who already has her own, defunct thread btw) while a veteran reader might be here for only Ho Chingchong of the ニガーカンパニー Vtubing agency where nobody even speaks English.

I think, and may Allah forgive me for saying this, it's time to implement hashtags. Let users tag their post, as in #PipkinPippa or #DoubleChinigami so that people can search for relevant posts in chronological order.

I remember one time I was looking for a post about Haachama, and I couldn't remember whether the post called her Haato, Chammers, Haachama or Haatochama and it later turned out the post didn't actually say her name.

I wouldn't worry about the size of this thread that much. Primarily because this was discussed before, and secondly because the thread doesn't go that fast as in the past anymore. Thus allowing as to be a little chill. The off topic threads can be used for archiving of course, but mainly they are for discussion. I know I might sound like a broken record, but there is a separate forum, and if you sign in, you have access to archiving threads for vtubers. I do understand that here was the place for nice discussion back in the day (hence why KF is called the homeland/fatherland/ancestrap grounds), but this thread cannot and, in my opinion must not, play the same role that a forum that already exists has covered. This thread has changed it's purpose and from a place for archiving and dicussing, it will turn into a place primarily for discussion, but with archives still being welcome of course.

TLDR: This an off topic thread, and a forum centred on vtubers (with KF cultural influence) already exists. This thread cannot act in the same vein as a forum does.

After Irys dared to declare that she likes traps, will she now be canceled for being a lolicon? I don't think even NijiEN has played this game yet.
several voices in the game are hololive members they voice all the bosses.

I'd take a stab in the dark and say that people that would want this are thinking it'd be easier to track drama if events got their own thread instead of getting buried here by other talk.

When people call for a forum to be dedicated to Vtubers, I think what most people are asking for is something along these lines:

  • There would be a Hololive thread specifically dedicated to Hololive news Controversy and vtubers. The OP would contain all information on existing and former vtubers, including their known roomate info, and be updated accordingly.
  • A Nijisanji thread to mirror the Hololive thread, with the same setup.
  • Threads dedicated to Phase Connect and Vshojo with similar setups, since those are the next most talked about companies here, and both Lia and Pippa in particular get constant updates
  • This general thread would remain for more general news, companies that don't have their own thread, vtweeters, and indie vtubers who lack their own threads.
  • Additional threads to be created for indie vtubers (like Shyliliy), vtuber groups (such as VOMS), and vtuber agencies (like Idol Corp) that warrant the interest due to activity, or for specific controversies
This would slow this page down a ton and make it easier to follow news regarding specific companies. Right now, if you want to search up anything in this thread on a specific vtuber, its a right mess in a half to do so due to the shear length of the thread, issues with searching for posts that don't mention that vtuber's name or mention the name in one of multiple variations, etc.

Yup. It's not like this thread moves THAT fast, and if some extremely interesting drama pops up it'll become a thread highlight naturally anyways.
It isn't moving fast now, but prior to all the Keffals shit, this thread was averaging well over 500 posts a day during peak usage, and was nearly impossible to actually keep up with. That's how it got so many pages.

And then, American companies are striking American channels, and while the American law applies, guess what happens most of the time.
Most companies seem to have laid off of outright striking things as long as you aren't posting something that is obviously infringing (in most cases, they will just claim your video to take ad-revenue, if anything). And most strikes are generally resolved rather quickly. Doesn't mean it isn't still problem. Some companies are still run by assholes (see the current owners of Star Trek, as Razorfist found out), but it doesn't change the fact that U.S. law still applies. Its just that Youtube's system regarding copyright is broken, but that's been a known quantity for years. Nor does it change the fact that Niji are still run by assholes who are abusing the system.

Huh now that you said that I wonder if covercorp has anything in their contracts about streaming as your PL
they prob do because I can't think of any that still do at least not as vtubers not sure of bird and whitewoman count
Most still do personal stuff. noel basically makes porn and doesnt even have an issue even though everyone knows its her.
her and matsuri even did collab merch together:

Niji doesnt seem to care either

But with all the double dipping it does beg the question how much they actually make.

Bettel talks about his preferences in meat, how much he doesn't like Thanksgiving food, Brussels sprouts being his favourite vegetable, answering the question "chicken or beef", and stating that he likes his steak medium.

Bettel doesn't drink milk because "it's too thick". Whatever the fuck that means.

Bettel was asked about 24 hour streams by chat.

Vesper showed his mascot, VesTea (not to be confused with his fans, Vesties). Then, he RPed as VesTea which suspiciously said stuff that a manager would.

We already have a more formal thread for vtuber drama that barely anyone uses. I also don't see the "a new thread would be easier to search" point as convincing-- if you think vtubers are popular and compelling enough to make multiple threads for then surely they'll become just as bloated in about a year or so. Null seems pretty firm on his stance of "this isn't an anime forum, fuck off", anyway.

Honestly, I just don't see the point. I think this thread is popular largely because it's a place for casual discussion, allowing for shitposting and chit-chat about anime girls, rather than because people are really interested in documenting drama.

though i guess it would be funny seeing nijisanji having a dead thread

If she was still with her old organization, I imagine she'd be playing it.
