Reminds me of that SJW "argument" that "sexualizing" fictional characters is "problematic" because "fictional characters can't consent", which ignores that if one can make up a fictional character in the first place, one can make up a fictional character who doesn't mind being "sexualized" in the fiction. Lately I've recalled this passage from the Puritan epic Paradise lost. I'm far from the first to notice the hereditary link between Puritanism and modern SJW culture, but it is interesting to see their core belief that moral impurity cancels out all merits articulated so long ago, even using the word "Cancelled" in exactly the same way as modern cancel culture. The angel Raphael is telling Adam about the war in Heaven, recounts the deeds of the various angels, and concludes with this passage:

Edit: Someone mentioned the Blank Slate, this matches well with their whole "Society is God" assumption. Paradise Lost and other Christian works assert that the strength of all beings is determined by God. Since SJWs have swapped out "God" for "Society" they believe their social programs have the power, or will have it once sufficiently refined, to elevate the most pitiable people to the highest levels of power and competence. They love representation because it shows that their programs are working.. even if it's mostly through smoke and mirrors. So anyone can be replaced in the just society, the weakest man can outdo the strongest if he has God the managerial state on his side, thus moral virtue as defined by Current Year is the only quality that really matters.

Sort of. Progressives need to believe that people are blank slates so that all of those poor PoCs can be elevated to the highest levels of society, and that gender does not correlate with sex. Of course, this means that progressives need to reject an awful lot of biology.

Progressives believe that it is possible to socially and politically engineer away the ills of society: racism, poverty, pollution, etc. But if people are not blank slates, if human nature is a constraint, then that puts limits on how effective those engineering programs can be. Worse, it also suggests that the institutions that progressives decry as oppressive and illegitimate have good reasons to exist the way they do. And once you start noticing that, it's just a matter of time before you're carving swastikas into your forehead.
