She has already spent the superchat money and will be out of pocket above and beyond whatever youtube finally pays out - and that’s not counting all the rest of the cat equipment required to be in place even before BBJ reaches her new home. People don’t adopt older animals for this very reason - they cost so damned much to keep alive. (And the people who do are Angels on Earth ).

All this and FFG doesn’t even have the cat. BBJ will look at FFG like she is a stranger, and maybe dismiss her in the way cats do to dog people. FFG will be allowed a cuddle if she’s very lucky and will have to rely on pictures and updates like the rest of us. What FFG does have is a commitment to pay out what will amount to be a considerable sum of money for an unspecified time period - for an animal she DOESN’T EVEN OWN. How many of us can say we’d do (or could afford to do) the same?

how and why does this happen to cats? ive been around cats for years and never seen something like that. they all constantly scratch things outside with their claws (mostly wooden fence posts in my case) and i think that naturally keeps them from becoming ingrown or shit like that. is it because chantals cats are so old that they cant do this normally anymore?

It can be from old age because they aren't scratching and it's also common with cats with extra toes.

Age and neglect, Chalal approached the cats with the attitude of "feed them and give them somewhere to shit". Indoor cats require more effort. Sam would often demonstrate a nervous/anxious "clawing" behaviour on the kitchen counters which indicated a lack of something to claw at. Chalal had one single cat tree for the two cats and the tree was in the least used part of the house, placement of cat furniture from litter trays to beds is important when owning indoor cats.

There were no dedicated cat beds, scratching posts, horizontal scratching surfaces or proper cat toys to encourage them to run around. Chalal will flaunt a haul but rarely if ever flaunted a cat toy haul. There was also no utilisation of catnip to encourage scratching behaviour.

I agree that her motivations were mixed and regarding pet care I would add that she seems to have a bit too much blind trust in medical/veterinarian authorities (the infamous 21 pills a day) but you're just throwing random insults.

if anything, FFG was so desperate to not lose the first dog, she caused more suffering desperately trying to save him with treatment i would consider rather cruel. force feeding a dog and giving them so much medication a day when their body has clearly given up isn't really fair to me. it's prolonging the inevitable and the suffering. i've seen people make decisions that probably aren't fair to the animal, just because they're so attached and can't cope with putting them down and saying goodbye.

so it's insane if chantal to compare the two, as if all euthanisia is the same and her wanting to prematurely put down BBJ is anything like FFG finally having to admit her dog was done and needed to be put down out of mercy.

i don't like FFG, i do think she mishandled her dog situation, BUT!!! she did so in a way that is understandable. she was trying to make sure they were alive and comfortable, even if i really disagree with her choices and feel like it wasn't fair at all to that doggie. she was just that attached. she was absolutely unhinged with grief, i saw a few little things of her being hysterical in a way that even most people losing a pet wouldn't be.

meanwhile, chantal neglected her cat out of her own laziness, caused suffering, and when the cat became an inconvenience, showed zero emotion about rehoming one and floated and laughed about euthanizing the other.

FFG is literally the crazy woman without kids who treats animals like her children. she seriously is the "FUR BABIES" middle aged fattie who cherishes them like her own kids.

chantal appeared to be this for years, but clearly, she's too sociopathic for even that kind of emotion or care for another living being. they're all just props for her. salad, too.

FFG is fat, but not death fat status yet, and looks maybe around 180-200lbs? Chantal is twice that weight.
As far as her pet parenting, I’ll go out on a limb and guess she’s a better pet parent than most. Ollie (one of her dogs that died) had kidney failure. She could have easily euthanized that dog as soon as they told her he was terminal, but she didn’t. She tried keeping him alive with expensive vet treatments. I know it’s expensive because I went through the same thing with one of my dogs. Let me just say, you don’t go through all of that if you’re a shitty pet parent. She obviously has love her dogs.

Also, even if her sister in law is bed bound, her brother obviously isn’t and didn’t look like a fatty either from the quick glimpse we got at the door, so that has to count for something.
