How is it a distortion? Everything we know about it is based on your own words about it.

If you're justifying it 35 years later, then you clearly still think it was OK and would likely do the same thing again if you had the chance today. An opportunistic predator is still a predator, and it's particularly concerning when that person promotes themselves as offering "help" to vulnerable people and makes their space available to "travellers".

Fact: The age of consent expressly defines the age at which an individual is capable of legally consenting to sexual activity
Fact: The sexual history of a minor below the age of consent has no bearing on their ability to consent
Your testimony: The girl in question was under the age of consent.
Conclusion: As an adult, you had sexual contact of some nature, penetration or otherwise, with an individual that was legally unable to consent to that activity.

That's a rational legal understanding of the situation.
