Terror Trouble in Orlando

We've spent the last eight years pulling back, and shit's worse now than ever. Clerical fascists don't take "let's find a compromise" as an answer.

It is, debatably, because we got involved in the first place. I believe we either got greedy or carried away with foreign involvement and it has done much more harm than good. We are responsible for ISIS. We are responsible for Bin Laden (CIA funding him in the 80's). Everything that is happening is directly and indirectly related to us meddling in things that don't involve us (to think, if we just let Russia invade Afghanistan then maybe the middle east wouldn't be our problem). Compromises will have to be made if we want the violence to be reduced. In conclusion, I digress.

This country was pretty close to doing this after 9/11. I remember there being a massive swelling of patriotism in the months afterwards. The only problem was that the Bush administration chose to just chuck darts on a billboard and go after the Taliban and Saddam Hussein, yet do nothing about Saudi Arabia. The Tailban was the right choice, since they were allies with al-Qaeda, but Iraq was a terrible one to begin with, since Saddam had no ties to 9/11 and was one of the main reasons that area was stable.

Ever since he's been out of power, Iraq has turned into an utter shithole that has done nothing more than fuel more extremism, like ISIS. Afghanistan has also turned out to be the same, but for reasons of weak and uninspired leadership. No surprise that the Taliban has regained strength in that region again.
Saddam had repeatedly invadad his neighbors; laundered money to families of Palestinian jihadist suicide bombers; played upon national tribalism by turning to Sunni radicalism for regime legitimacy, and was only kept from wiping out Kurdistan by repeated flyover jobs from non-camelfucker countries. Even to this day, most of the nastiest bastards in ISIS cut their teeth working as torture monkies for the Republic's aparati of state violence.

How the fuck is that a promotion of stability? What the fuck do you think would change had he stuck around? I'll give you a hint: Michael Moore's footage from Fahrenheit 911; not entirely faothful to the truth.

You're on the ball bout Saudi Arabia, thoe.

A man was arrested in California with weapons and explosives in his car, apparently en route to the LA Pride Parade.

Early Sunday, Santa Monica police received a call of a suspected prowler near Olympic Boulevard and 11th Street. Patrol officers responded and encountered an individual who told officers he was waiting for a friend. That led officers to inspect the car and find several weapons and a lot of ammunition as well as tannerite, an ingredient that could be used to create a pipe bomb.

The car had Indiana plates. The man was arrested and made comments that he was in town for the Pride event in West Hollywood this weekend. The festival is going ahead with tightened security, and police are looking for the friend mentioned by the suspect.

Authorities said they see no connection between the Santa Monica arrest and a gay nightclub shooting in Orlando, Fla., early Sunday morning. The Santa Monica investigation has been taken over by the FBI.

Im not saying Saddam was a noble leader (nowhere near it, in fact.) Im mainly speaking about how he pretty much kept the sectarian interests in check by force. Once Saddam was gone, the Sunnis and Shiites were engulfed in a bloodbath, the Kurds were still treated like shit and the Christian population was either brutally murdered or fled the country. The interim government that the US put in power has been utterly useless at its job. Dismantling the Iraqi Royal Guard was another major mistake. Just created a bunch of skilled mercenary officers who went to the highest bidder. That highest bidder was usually ISIS.

But enough political sperging. This tragedy is still utterly infuriating and should inspire anger at the needless loss of life.
