Russian Special Military Operation in the Ukraine - Mark IV: The Partitioning of Discussion

When it comes to the Ukraine-Russia war, Ukraine gets its strongest support from Europe, which has a long history of fearing Russians, and America, which has a penchant for the underdog and, possibly, has politicians with Ukrainian money lining their pockets. However, barring the New Zealand and Australian anglosphere, most of the southern hemisphere supports Russia. That is, it’s not just China that aligns with Putin; it’s almost everywhere in that part of the world.

One of the reasons that Russia’s economy is surviving despite Western sanctions is because other parts of the world are happy to do business with Russia. They’re not being forced. It turns out that those parts of the world that are not in the American/Anglo/European axis like and respect Russia. I learned thanks to a fascinating article by Krishen Mehta, “a member of the Board of the American Committee for U.S.-Russia Accord (ACURA), and a Senior Global Justice Fellow at Yale University,” who has written an essay explaining five reasons for this support.

Despite US wanting to continue the war, Ukraine and France apparently are trying to peace out.

Wagner have advanced to the northern most road and are about to cut the MSR. if they do its over for the AFU in the area. there is a lot of units in the city, if they are destroyed the entire Donetsk front is at risk of falling apart. the AFU are reportedly sending everything they have to hold the gap open. this includes as i mentioned yesterday crack units. separate rifle brigades, territorial units, national guard forces and now operational units (as in units meant to be a last resort) have been thrown in.

To me what is most telling about this battle is A. the constant complaints from AFU sources that the artillery advantage of the RUAF has reached decisive levels, and B. what artillery makes it to the area is mainly towed field guns that are hunted down by loitering munitions.

There's something viscerally unsettling about knowing that a grown man photographed himself at least 10 times doing a super forced ZOINKS SCOOB I'M SO SPOOKED nail biting gesture in order to put it as the thumbnail on a video about a military conflict in which people are dying on both sides every day.

I hate this.

Please i beg you. let these youtube fags die in obscurity, they are like human cockroaches. they add nothing and are just so fucking gay.

Before Russia invaded Ukraine on Feb. 24, the U.S. Army’s production of 14,400 unguided shells a month had been sufficient for the American military’s way of war. But the need to supply Kyiv’s armed forces prompted Pentagon leaders to triple production goals in September, and then double them again in January so that they could eventually make 90,000 or more shells a month.

The United States is, by far, the largest ammunition manufacturer in NATO. They're aiming to increase production to 90000 shells a month within 5 years. Enough to last the Ukrainians 10-15 days at current usage and the Russians 2-4 days. Assuming that the aim is for Ukraine to actually win they're going to need to at least match Russia's burn rate. Given that a victory will mean years of attritional war this isn't going to cut it.

In comparison Russia had 30 million in old usable Soviet stock pre-war and are producing anything from 200-450,000 shells a month depending on who you believe. They are not going to run out of ammo.

Military official: Ukraine could 'pull back' from Bakhmut

Despite the fierce resistance of Russia's efforts to capture the city of Bakhmut, an adviser to President Zelenskyy has said the Ukrainian military may need to "strategically pull back" from the battle.
Alexander Rodnyansky, an economic adviser, told CNN the military would "weigh all of the options" before retreating, but would not "sacrifice all of our people just for nothing".
So they wait until they're entirely surrounded and then decide to pull out? I swear the Ukrainian political and military leadership hates their conscript army. Some of the poor fuckers trapped in Bakhmut look ancient. Men in their fifties and sixties wearing dirty rags. It's too late for the units in the city to pull out, but they're national guard troops so I guess they're expendable. Some in the surrounding countryside could still withdraw, we'll see. There's reports that they're sending reinforcements but that may to cover a retreat, which would make sense. But it's the Ukraine so they've probably been sent there to die.

Why would anyone want war commentary from an effeminate soy monkey who's never been to war?

Compare that reject to the chad Strelkov. Strelkov may not always be right, but he makes great content. Also, has a Stechkin.

The time to leave has now passed. all the roads are in range of ATGM's and tanks or about to be physically cut. and Ukraine wishes it was disposable troops in the city. at last count they had the

93rd Mechanized Brigade (Western Equipment, Trained in the west)
30th Mechanized Brigade (Western Equipment)
63rd Mechanized Brigade (Veterans)
53rd Mechanized Brigade
24th Mechanized Brigade (Maybe evacuated last week?)
28th Mechanized Brigade
14th Mechanized Brigade
4th Tank Brigade (Veteran unit)
17th Tank Brigade

All either in the city itself, or rotated through it. this is along with a large amount of smaller rifle battalions, TDB units and a large number of national guard units.

It's all the same low effort clickbait shit. ZOMG NATO wunderwaffe mean certain victory! Spring offensive to re-take Crimea is coming! See this Russian column get totally wiped out by Ukrainian shells, guaranteed to make you laugh! This cunt is spammed on my feed by google and is a grifting piece of shit.

At least the map guys, while being kind of retarded and low effort, make some kind of contribution by, you know, clicking on a map site and drawing arrows.

Douglas MacGregor is plying a trade repeating the same speech over and over on every livestream and YT video. Same for Ritter. Book sales must be going gangbusters

The only YTer on either side who doesn't want me to throw acid in their face it's history reactions. Yes he's OTT but he puts some effort in his videos and he shows compassion towards the foot soldiers, particularly the Ukrainian conscripts.

Why are they using Mechanized brigades for static defense?

the PZH 2000 is the Wunderwaffe, and used right it would hurt the russians alot because the russians have nothing that can hit a small target from that long range.
Pair it with 2 gepards and a couple of cheap scouting drones and you have an arty killer.

Its whats available. a mech brigade is the backbone of the army. its not like a panzer division or something, its just a ton of guys with organic armor support. normally BMPs or BTRs. the reason for them being thrown into the city is simple. wagner is a massive force now, most estimates have them at 50,000 to 65,000 bayonet strength. which is corps sized or for modern comparison about 12-15 brigades. they need them to even out the numbers wagner brings to the table.

I mean Wagner are launching a operational attack and fighting it all on their own with their own artillery and airforce. Wagner, a PMC. its crazy man. as for the PZH 2000 i think i remember earlier in the war complaints from the afu that it was kind of a piece of shit and that the Polish 'crab' was the way to go. could be wrong

Here is an update on the current situation. Since most of the stuff have already been said, I'll start with putting out information of an interview with Prigozhin by Pro-Russian reporter WarGonzo analyzed by History Legends and then state an overview of what had happened since last week.

Prigozhin's Interview with WarGonzo

Ideology

  • Prigozhin implies that the sole ideology in Wagner Group is a meritocracy, where every soldier has to fight to get promoted. He mentioned that commanders in Wagner must listen to their troops under their command. Wagnerites have a cynical view on death.
  • There was a story going around in which Wagnerites caught a deserter and the punishment was smashing his head with a sledgehammer. This was a ruse, as the deserter turned out to be alive with Prigozhin with his head intact, and it was probably to scare convicts from using their participation in Wagner to join the Ukrainians, and some convicts had decided against joining the Wagner Group because of it.
  • WarGonzo mentioned of the "far-right" problem in Wagner. Prigozhin responded that he doesn't give a shit and that Wagner wants results. If the members in Wagner are neo-Nazis and Wagner does intervene, Prigozhin stated that this will give a negative outcome and lessen the group's efficiency due to ruining the personal relationship and brotherhood between Wagner members. He also notes that it's hypocritical that Russians admire Lenin and Stalin despite the suffering they caused to Russia.
  • Prigozhin mentioned that he wants strong and courageous men to fight in Wagner and how much they will fight for their fellow soldiers and how committed they are to their team.
Everyone jerks off in the way they like. - Yevgeny Prigozhin

Prigozhin and Wagner vs Russian Ministry of Defense

  • For a Pro-Russian reporter, WarGonzo acknowledges the problems of the Russian military and its leaders and that Prigozhin had brought light to these issues through his criticism of the Russian military structure. History Legends highlights that the Russian Winter Offensive is very slow, with failed offensives into Vuhledar and Zaporizhzhye.
  • History Legends states that Prigozhin's criticism of the Russian military being public started during the September counter-offensive by Ukraine, when Russian general Aleksandr Lapin of the Central Military District ditched Lyman to the Ukrainians in October. Prigozhin called him "incompetent" and that he was commanding troops far from the frontline. Lapin was sacked but then promoted months later in January to become head of the Russian Army.
    • This supposedly later resulted in a feud between the MoD and Wagner in which the former refused to give ammunition to the latter, in which Prigozhin mentioned that this has resulted in Wagnerites dying. The ammunition crisis was solved, either with pressure by Putin on the MoD or the feud being a ruse and that MoD has continually supplied Wagner in their offensives.
  • Prigozhin mentioned that generals must go to the frontlines to talk to their troops, which will help increase morale, and he himself has followed this advice. (History Legends mention that this in contrast with Russian generals who has gained their titles by seniority and paper pushing)

How Long the War Lasts

  • Prigozhin states there has been no war at this scale like the Russian invasion of Ukraine since World War II and has compared Soledar to Stalingrad (though History Legends mentioned that Bakhmut is a better comparison instead).
  • Prigozhin mentioned that at the current rate, for the Russians to take the whole Donbass (Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts), it will take a year and a half or two. If the goal is to take all land east of the Dnieper River in Ukraine, he said that it will be three years at best.
We know we are going to hell, but in hell we will be the best. - Yevgeny Prigozhin

Overview of the Invasion (since last week)

Donetsk Oblast

Vuhledar

  • The Russians fail again when Ukraine launched another successful counter-offensive that pushed the Russians to the Kashlahach River north of Pavlivka. The Russian Army still occupies the dacha area next to Vuhledar.

Bakhmut

Seversk

  • DPA has commented that the AFU commander of Seversk is extremely competent and has held off Russian assaults in suburbs outside Seversk.

Outside of Ukraine

  • Drones from Ukraine are sighted in Russia and are shot down.

Potential encirclements of Bakhmut

From this video: the Wagnerites have three ways to encircle the city of Bakhmut
  • The Wagnerites in South Bakhmut can do a tight encirclement in which they don't assault Ivanivske and try to meet up with the Wagnerites at Khromove.
  • Wagnerites in North Bakhmut attack in the direction of Chasiv Yar and can try to encircle Ivanivske, meeting up with Wagnerites in the south of Ivanivske.
  • Why not both?

The Youtube thumbnail meta and those who subscribe to it practically engineers a factory of cringe.
You will constantly see channels that were doing well off ad revenue, had a slight drop in revenue, and then started forcing 8 bajillion soyfaces in their thumbnails.
