How do you think unrestrained access to the internet (and/or pushing of alphabet stuff in public schools) will affect following generations? - Are alphabet furries raised from near-birth to cross-dress for clout the future of our world?

Elsagate, wide access to the internet without supervision, (from what i've heard) pushing of subjects like sex education onto children as young as four in schools. How the fuck will all this affect the kids of today and the adults of 20 years from now? Will fursuiting become standard dress? Public indecency be made legal? History be contorted to focus far more on the plight of The Gays™️?

Facetious subtitle and starting paragraph aside, i'm genuinely curious. I personally think that a lot of people will either grow out of this stuff or kill themselves before they can, so the problem will be (mostly) sorted in a decade or two (especially due to how unsustainable a society that emphasizes casual sex over children seems to be). But then again, that's judging off of today's teenagers and not their younger siblings.

Kiwis who are more in-tune with young kids (be it through raising them or interacting with them frequently), how do you think all of this stuff will affect children going forward?

(mods, feel free to move the thread elsewhere if needed. Not sure if it belongs here since it's so heavy, but I thought it was a safe choice.)

I imagine a future modern world with such people could become like Sodom and Gomorrah, but worse.

(with mental health becoming a thing of the past)

We don't have to speculate anymore, we're literally seeing the effects of it right now. What could the root of the "trans youth" phenomenon that has appeared over the past decade be, other than a mass, collective childhood trauma?
I don't disagree, though the children you're talking about were mostly born in the 2000s- aka, by the time all this gender shit became widespread, they were- at minimum- 6 years old (assuming that it became widespread in 2015, even though I know it started before then). I'm sort of more curious about the kids who have only ever known gender fluidity and fucked up porn made with their favorite childhood mascots. (Though i'm plenty happy to hear discussion on what you're talking about too lol. It is incredibly bizarre watching how modern teenagers/children act, and I'll never understand it)

I have witnessed firsthand children quite literally being indoctrinated by unrestricted access to the internet and the gender woowoo taught in schools. Girls who don't follow conventional stereotypes of femininity who enjoy cars, sports, or video games saying they are trans, kids claiming to be homosexual, asexual, or bisexual before they even hit puberty, or children pretending to have schizophrenia, BPD, or DID by clearly imitating misconceived symptoms for attention. There is no speculation anymore. It is happening and observable, and my distaste for it is palpable.

Arguably it already started when internet porn became commonly viewed by teenagers. Prior to the early 00s or so when everyone had good internet, the only porn a teenager saw was whatever they managed to watch on TV. Even that was new, since before like 1990 the only porn most people saw was Playboy and Hustler. All of that shit is absolutely tame compared to today when having a large number of fetishes is a status symbol.

And then you have gender ideology being promoted as the cool thing. People inherently know what gets them status, so as much as they screech how "nobody would choose to be part of an uwu oppressed minority", in actuality being trans is considered cool, hip, and awesome. This current sexual revolution will eventually totally destroy gender roles and with it thousands of years of Western society. We will become a bunch of half-naked, overtly tattooed drug-addicted freaks with minimal concept of gender. And it will go on and on like that until the world is destroyed (likely), we find a new cause (transspecies is coming VERY soon), or we have the "Christian Revolution" as an equivalent to Iran's Islamic Revolution. You know it's fucking bad when a apostate non-believer like me views the latter as the least bad option.

Do you think they'll grow out of it at all, or are they ruined for life?

granted, I do actually have a religion, but otherwise I've got the same sentiment

I had unrestrained access at about 12 or 13 when I got my Wii. The family computer was a low end one from about 1999, so the Wii was my main device for internet browsing. I think I turned out okay. Wait, I have a Kiwifarms account. Nevermind.

My parents had no idea the console could access the internet until it was too late.

They will fail to reproduce, and this land will be overtaken by swarthy Indians from south of the border.

It will be the pulpit of new religion, whatever that may be, if it isn't already. That much I am sure of, and I'm not sure that's a wholly positive thing given we are headed for a dark age and I remember what the last one of those entailed when it came to faith.

The legacy of unrestrained access will be the creation of that pulpit, and whatever evils or goods it may bring.

If they are not indulged, they will grow out of it. Yet adults themselves are being told to indulge children in it. Nothing is "just a phase" anymore. If a kid wishes to transition to another sex, they must immediately go on hormone blockers and consult gender specialists. Parents who go against this are openly criticized or worse while the children are occasionally given these concessions behind said parents' backs. Kids who self-diagnose a mental disorder they should normally have no knowledge of are taken seriously and are sent doctor to doctor until one affirms their delusions. Children who haven't the slightest clue about sexuality claiming to know their own are meant to have this identity reinforced when the bigger issue is how and why a child is concerned about their sexuality before even being of age.

There is an active push in favor of adults submitting to this ridiculousness. This used to be laughable, and then I started to see it actually happen to those immediately surrounding me. It's spreading and only becoming more and more commonplace.

The youth is also a lot more liberal this might be an side effect of being raised in a world where being gay/trans isn't extraordinary anymore. I feel the general acceptance is a positive evolution. Do we should not force any ideals onto the youth this is a slippery slope because the one who decides which ideals get fed are the ones in power. Childeren should not come into contact with pornographic content until a reasonable age but we should also teach them about it and how to engage in it safely. They will eventually do it we should make sure when that happens they atleast kinda know how to do it in a safe way.

i was raised from birth on a diet of corn syrup and soy derivatives. I took every shot they could give me. i didnt really know what a trans person was till college. i turned out pretty okay. I think teens should know about lgbt stuff since its really ingrained into American subcultures. i mean like only 10 percent of people are gay, 1 percent trans, teens learning that some people have gender dysphoria wont turn them into queer disabled poc anti Americans.

Well it fucked me up so probably.

It also has my grandma using terms like "unalive,"
Same. I imagine we're probably in a similar age bracket and had the access to the Internet that society is just now freaking out about. I found porn (including those flash games) as a 10-year-old. A lot of those games had a creepy, child-pandering slant where they'd focus primarily on dress up, Disney characters, etc. It seemed nefarious and intentional to me even as a little kid. I was on now-defunct art sites overrun by children under the age of 15 -- mental disorders, self-harm, and all that TikTok shit was glamorized by all those kiddos. It kind of drives me nuts when people ask why faking mental disorders is so trendy all of a sudden. Dude, it's always been like this online.

The kids on this art site would all brag about depression, cutting themselves, suicidal ideation was popular, eating disorders (it wasn't just the girls), and have their "split personalities" listed in their bios like they were "OC DONT STEAL" characters. Users I never spoke to before came to my public page to request we do some erotic Yaoi RP, out in the open. I was a little-ass kid. These were all little-ass kids, and I wasn't even on the BAD parts of the Internet, technically.

Don't get me started on shit like the chatrooms and IMVU. Good grief. I was never foolish enough to meet up with these people or whatever, but I've been flashed dozens of times. Some older dude tried really hard to coerce me into a dom/sub relationship, where I'd call him master or mister exclusively, something like that. I was 14. That's just one eerie experience of the possibly hundreds I've had.

I was never in strictly adult spaces when these things happened. Parents are moronic if they think their kids are totally safe on the Internet. You might as well send them to the park at night.

And the grandma. Lmao. I'm not sure what's more horrifying.

Man I was exposed to Omegal at 14 before they cracked down on things. I only now am realizing how fucked what I went through was. And now Im all sorts of fucked up like everyone else around my age is these days. Parents should be more careful with their kids online activities. Or not let them do anything besides watch YouTube.

To me grandma is the most horrifying. But that's because I interact with her probably. She thinks demons are going to come out of the rivers that are drying up.
