Long game is being played on all fronts to guarantee no counter plays can succeed. Those involved have learned from history and the mistakes made in the past. One independent site maybe not, a large amount of them would raise some alerts friend-of-a-friend style.

For some general context this is a press conference Zelensky had on the first anniversary of the invasion. In this conference someone asks him what his message would be to Americans who believe too much support is being given to Ukraine around 1:37:15. He makes the statement in this video clip sometime at 1:40:14 when he states if the USA stops sending support then after Ukraine is defeated Russia will try to attack the Baltic states who are part of NATO then it itself will be forced to fight due to alliance obligations.

Overall while I don't really like Zelensky it is relatively diplomatic response to the question. With his words in mind though I can see the plan forming in the mind of some pro-Ukraine intervention people along some insane line of logic to frame a war with Russia as a way to prevent a world war.

The problem isn't Sec 230. The problem is platforms can let you build a business or a brand on them, then blow it up for any reason or no reason, and they can collude to do this. I know a guy whose entire business was destroyed because on his personal account on one social media spot, he said something forbidden, and so all his business social media on other sites got taken down as well. It's over. He can no longer build an online business of any kind because of a single Facebook post.

If you're renting commercial property, your landlord can't evict you before the lease is up just because he felt like it one day. He can't change the terms of your lease without warning and lock the doors until you sign the new one. If you do get evicted, there's a process, you can contest, and the reasons aren't secret. If he does things that screw up your business, you can sue for damages. None of this is true in the world of online platforms, which have become as or even more important than commercial property.

We don't need Sec 230 repealed. We need platform users to have rights. It's not going to happen, of course, as the USG has found it very useful to be able to collude with social media to deplatform people they don't like.

We don't even need my oblique reference to a friend. That's precisely want went down with InfoWars. In an instant, a business that existed primarily online had most of its online presence vaporized. In the pre-internet world, the equivalent would be if a business had its storefront leases canceled nationwide, all of its billboards scrubbed, all of its TV and radio ad spots canceled, all magazine ads pulled, etc. Unfortunately, the trend is going the wrong way. People aren't looking at how easily internet companies can annihilate your presence with zero review or due process and saying that's a problem.
