Resident Evil - Virgin Vampire Wine Mom vs Chad Magnetic Lebowski

Yeah I noticed that in his reveal trailer.

The comments on Youtube are infuriating. It's all the same reaction without anyone even critically thinking about what they're even seeing. Like did they even know why they liked the original?

100% I bet you they'll cuck his mutant form too. It MIGHT turn out cool, but if recent trends have shown with Capcom dumbing down their mutant designs...

I mean, I'm still gonna play it (Got the deluxe edition for Christmas), but by god mods will fix like half this games problems. Dialogue I am not so sure about, unless somebody goes the extra mile and puts the old dialogue back in.

100%

They'll neuter him like they neutered Super Tyrant Mr. X

I hated his redesigned super form immediately with his dumb spiked lobster tail arm. Krauser will either have a puny knife arm, or it'll be something else entirely because god fucking forbid you don't reinvent the wheel over and over.
Zoomers and consoomers are interested in mumbling from soulless actors, as with most things these days.
We don't know how good we had it.

Aw man, and voice acting used to be fun. Nowadays, it's just very sad stuff made for the jaded millennial/zoomer crowd.
I was just thinking how it's not even that the actors were better per se. It's that they had distinct voices that popped. They didn't sound boring to listen to. A musical quality to them. I go back to Richard Waugh in Zero/RE4 being head and shoulders above everything that came after and he was hammy and flat in CV.

Like boring voice NuLeon just sounds like a generic extra from Law & Order that had one or two lines of dialogue, and they gave him the job.

Paul Haddad even with the ADA!!!!!!!!!!!!! still holds up imo.

Yea, now it's just improv (which I don't really mind, honestly) and moreover, insisting upon themselves.

I think somewhere in the last several years, Capcom forget this series was always B movie schlock and trying to do anymore than that just makes it another generic horror series.

The shitty aspects of RE is why it's endearing.

It reminds me of REmake. It has bad voice acting besides Peter Jessop as Wesker because it's pretty much the same script without the goofy cadence and it falls flat. None of the classic lines that reappear in it are quotable because it's done straight. And when I mean bad, all the lines just feel limp. The actors themselves all have good voices for the characters at least which I can't say the same about any of RE2R-RE4R.

That's the thing here. Resident Evil worked as a low budget B-to-Z grade horror movie setting (the same that would've been made fun of in the likes of MST3K). By the fourth game however, the game became too serious for its own kind.

I mean yeah. Although that was sorta started with REmake in terms of it's art direction and horror factor which were second to none for the time and a lot of that spilled into RE4 since I think Mikami had a lot to do with that. It's almost hypocritical to shit on RE4R for the reasons we like REmake.

But there's a clear distinction given the shift in tone with all three of RE2-3-4R compared to the originals. REmake doesn't come off as try hard. I think it's just the bad acting in that which makes me compare it to these current games. But then you play Zero, and the acting in that is hammy as fuck and I love it for it even though the game generally sucks.

Damn, new gameplay drops and it's a whole page of bitching and moaning about... Krauser's knife size, among other things. Huh.

I think it's pretty cool that they turned Krauser's QTE cutscene in an actual knife fight. Also looks like you can parry everything. Hope the demo drops soon.
NO YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND, KRAUSER'S KNIFE NEEDS TO BE AS LONG AS HIS DICK SO I CAN HAVE PSYCHOSEXUAL FANTASIES ABOUT LEON BEING A BRATTY BOTTOM AAAAAAA

Nah for real, stuff like that is minor, and again fixable by mods. It's the VA work that hits bad for me, which sucks cuz the OG had some really fun voice acting. The game itself looks fucking rad to play, it's just those little niggling things that drive discussion now, since nutting about the gameplay would get boring soon.

Without the corny VA of the original, all you get is a generic video game. It's as bad as reducing Lara Croft's tits in the new Tomb Raider games for the woke crowd circa 2013 onward.
I'd say the VA is a part of RE4, not the standout part. The gunplay and variety of encounters, and the interesting locations are the holy trifecta that makes up RE4 for me.

This remake has the gunplay and locations, since the fights look very fun and are now enhanced with new mechanics like the parry, and all the previous locations are in the game, alongside new areas as well. The voice acting however is of a lower quality, and in some cases (COUGHCOUGH Krauser COUGHCOUGH) are severely miscast. I can only hope mods can fix that, cuz otherwise we have a very interesting stick, but not much else.

For the record, I think the game is looking awesome so far but until I've confirmed it myself I don't trust those liars at Capcom for a second. I think people are just generally feeling annoyed that they're trying to make the game too serious and we're losing a ton of flavour and seasoning that went on top and made the original steak so delicious, even if by all accounts it still looks like we're getting some AAA prime beef, just without the delightful frills.

I wonder if Ada still has to come and save him at the end.

TFW no bitch in the red dress line :punished:
Bitch in the red turtleneck

Critical thinking and Independent thought are real hard for most people.

This is more of my veteran side, but God damn I love the black boots and choco-chip camo pattern; that shit went away like right around or slightly after RE4 came out, and now they put Krauser in some basic ass denim jeans. His voice also leaves much to be desired, too flat and... I don't know the proper word, so I'll have to say snakey. Like it wouldn't feel out of place if he held his S's when he talked.

Taking away Salazar's Tri-Corne hat is also a disservice. Though I figure because not only having a midget laugh at you isn't corny enough, they put the hat on him to make him a true Napoleon complex. Make his voice more "realistic" (spit) and taking away the hat and you suddenly have a serious Castellan who is a threat... or something.

damn, bad voice acting and character redesign aside, the game looks so good. will get it. still cant get over Leon being called a rookie instead of comrade. Krauser calling Leon comrade was a sign of respect and acknowledging him as an equal. you could tell they both shared a history together and had eachothers backs at one point. that's how i saw it since i never read the novel about how they both met.

It reminds me of when The Twin Snakes trailer first dropped and everyone (me included) lost their shit over it. And when you got it, you realized how bad you were lied to.

The modern gamer is just into graphics and nostalgia bait. That's a 10/10 every time.
Yea, Twin Snakes is a masterpiece of a MGS game, for the reals.
