Because she's jealous. She's jealous of her cats to the point of rage. She first truly became annoyed with Sam and BBJ when she was trying to woo Nader and they forced her to return home, back to reality. Nader didn't like cats. Leaving Nader to feed the cats meant that Nader would cheat on her. The cats represented her "old life" and responsibilities, and she ~changed her mind~ about that life. But she still seemingly cared about the cats. She missed them, was affectionate with them when she was home, etc.

Then Nader hurt BBJ and people were outraged. That really made her mad. Nader hurt Chantal and people weren't outraged. Nader hurt her worse than he ever hurt BBJ, but people weren't angry and protective of her. People even told her that she deserved it. Why did these losers care more about BBJ than her? Whatever. Then people started telling her to take the cats to the vet. People kept talking about the damn vet. People sent money for the vet, and would super chat about the vet. All for the stupid cats. No one cares about her like that. Chantal was sick too! People didn't care about her going to the doctor for herself - why do they care about the stupid cats? Ridiculous. Then it got to the point where the cats and James were tying her down, handcuffing her to her old life, preventing her from being with soulmate #32. She's MARRIED. No one cares about those cats in Kuwait. Dogs don't even belong in the house there. But she's expected to be Chantal Sarault and care about the stupid cats and take care of stupid Peetz. Ridiculous. Then all she hears about is James, and how he seems unstable, and "are you worried about him, Chantal?" What about Chantal? How come no one is worried about Chantal? Now it's the fucking vet again. Everyone is harping about the stupid cats and pretending they take their cats to the vet for checkups. No one actually does that. Why do they all care so much about BBJ? She's old and smells funny. By "Going after [her] living conditions at the villa" she's talking about everyone reaming her out because right now the focus is on poor BBJ and that cat was living in filth, in pain, and in dire need of medical attention while Chantal just ignored that. Some of you honestly look stupid for believing FFG was just going to stay quiet about the cat and silently care for its well being off camera.
