Hogwarts Legacy is a game no big time youtuber should touch with a 10 foot pole. Anyone ANYONE who streams it on twitch will have their stream logged on a site by some punk bitch who just wants to cancel ANYONE who plays it. And Pikamee was just another case. Thing is. It's entirely in Japanese but some of the live chat viewers were translating during it. Around the 6 minute mark, VOMS founder GYARI says that they had been discussing Pikamee's decision to graduate for a "very long time".
In other words, there is evidence to suggest that she was going to graduate anyway regardless of the Hogwarts Legacy shit. Does this mean that had no influence over her decision? I have no idea. The thing about these kinds of announcements is that they're always pretty light on the details and that's just standard Japanese corpo language.

It could've already been planned or it could've been something she was considering and then during that month-long silence after her Hogwarts announcement she made her final decision. We'll probably never know for sure. It still doesn't validate any of the harassment she got from from Twitter's dedicated dilators.

This is entirely a reach and a guess, but the end of March is both the end of a typical school year in Japan as well the the fiscal year. So things in Japan tend to end in March and start up again in April.

My crackpot theory is this: She had been considering graduating for a while. As in she was thinking about it but hadn't made anything official. She'd already gone on breaks due to health reasons and generally feeling burned out. When she came back and got blown up for the HL announcement was the last straw, and that is when she began to seriously discuss the plans to graduate with her management during her period of silence after the twitter bullshit. The date of March 31 was probably agreed upon as it gave her time to sort of wrap things up and it was convenient from a financial standpoint to end at the end of the fiscal year so the company would be able to have a clean slate going into April.
