It was definitely something benign, if it was a legitimate biological agent, the closest USPS sorting facility to the sender would have been on the news. After the 2001 Anthrax attacks, all letter mail goes through a detector when it's brought into the mail stream at the closest sorting center, where it gets it's postage cancelled. they do detect other biological agents, not just anthrax. All letters do get scanned, this is how informed delivery works, but is primarily a function of how the machines process the written addresses.They MIGHT go so far as to check the return address if it's real/valid. As for the rest of it, lol stop watching so much CSI. Chances are it was some very boring normal shit like baby powder or something.
Postal inspectors will do more than you'd think, it's a difficult job to get, and far removed from the normal day to day operation of everyone's favorite junk mail service. Honestly, someone dumb enough to try this over a retard on the internet is probably retarded enough to make finding him easy.
