Nintendo Switch (Currently Plagued) - Here we shit post about the new Nintendo console, The Switch

The Wii U was an interesting idea... in theory.

In theory bringing a DS like experience to console could have been cool, but the trouble was almost nothing DS got Wii U follows ups like Advance Wars even though that would have made all the sense in the world, no Lost in Blue, no Elite Beat Agents, no Hotel Dusk, the list goes on.

The other issue was on the DS the screens were close together, with the Wii U you'd have to look down away from the TV screen completely.
I just wanted straight porrts. like the 3DS got of Wii U games. Pokemon, 3D Land, anything. Come on, guys

Yeah I thought they got butt fucked by not having the appropriate scale to shovel out HD games at the pace they were used to, while simultaneously all of their partners pushed either 3DS games or nothing at all. Half of their third party relationships since the gameboy have been built on the fact that their games are cheaper and quicker to make. The Wii and DS were budget platforms for players and devs. Now the WiiU needed gen 7 money to make and market anything, and the 3DS needed gen 6 money and games would invariably look like ass.

The big reason we saw so much experimental and fun shit on the DS and Wii was that it was quick and cheap to make, and moving it to HD now meant an order of magnitude cost increase while not really increasing audience size and not getting a 1:1 play experience with how multifunctional and finicky the game pad was.

Correction... people that rarely play videogames loved the motion controls. The hardcores absolutely hated it, especilaly when it's forced upon you (fully or as a hybrid) rather than it being an option.
No way, serious hardcore gamers such as myself demand motion controls for lightgun games on LCD screens. There's a new Operation Wolf game coming but it's probably going to suck and it's all Nintendo's fault for betraying all real gamers by not making a decent gun controller for Switch. When did they lose their way?

have you heard the good news?
The 3ds is haram, and limiting movement to the circle pad is the corn kernel on top of the shit sundae.
And then it'd go from an 8/10 to a 10/10 if they kept the Kremlings, all the animal rides, and tweaked the physics a tad to be more like the Rare trilogy's.
No one ever did figure out why the krocs got the boot, did they? I assume it was to distance the series as much as possible from rare, which on one hand I totally get because those limeys were starting to sink it very quickly after 3 and 64, but at the same time you can't force a series reboot and expect people to go along with it when your substitutions are planks of wood with no personality or charm.

I’m one of those fags that buys physical whenever possible. If I’m going to pay full price for a game, then give me the hunk of plastic and disc/cartridge. Plus I’ve seen more than enough instances over the years where buying a digital copy of a game (or tv show or whatever) doesn’t mean you truly can own it. Plus I do anticipate that physical copies of games will appreciate in price. I sold my sealed copy of Pikmin 3 on the Wii U for $140 a few years back. I just never got around to playing the game, saw what it was going for and sold it. You can’t sell digital copies. So you can recoup most of your “investment” if not more. Some hipster fag will buy your sealed copy of Fire Emblem Engage for MSRP or more in a few years.
Plus steelbooks exist and give you something that can actually be pretty nice to look at more than the usual hunk of plastic and they are now more commonly priced the same as regular prints if just slightly more the other times. Digital shit will only ever be an unsellable piece of data on your system and there will come a day console manufacturers will get away with it being locked to a single system at a time.

Bitch, jailbreak your 3DS and you can play all of that on one system. That's what I'm doing.

3DS > every handheld before it.
counterpoint: the d-pad is placed too awkwardly to play games reliant on them comfortably, and the circle pad sucks BAD (especially if yours has lost its rubber)
