Teachers set off fire alarms in a bid to quell 'TikTok riots' organised by secondary school pupils protesting unisex toilets as the social media movement continues to rock Britain's classrooms.

Oasis Academy Mayfield school in Southampton was at the centre of protests this week as around 300 students chanted 'toilet rights' amidst anger against 'unfair' new toilet rules.

Similar protests occurred at nearby Weston Secondary School, Hampshire, as pupils took to the playground to vocalise how 'uncomfortable' they feel having to use unisex loos and rules dictating when they are allowed to go.

Once Monday's protests had dispersed, senior leadership team then came down hard on rebellious Year 11s, threatening that if they are to take part in protests, they would not be allowed to attend their prom.

The protests come amid a nationwide movement organised on TikTok, reportedly organised among school pupils, with demonstrations having taken place in schools across the country - from Cornwall, Leeds and North Yorkshire to South Essex and Lincolnshire.

A Year 11 student from Oasis Academy Mayfield said: 'Unisex toilets make me feel extremely vulnerable and uncomfortable. It feels sometimes as if I don't have as much privacy as I would like due to these toilets. Also, it is really damaging when I am not allowed to go to the toilet while I am on my period. It feels as if I have to fight against the teachers for a basic human right and it makes me wonder if our school is truly as progressive as they say they are.'

Another added: 'People chanted both 'toilet rights' and 'equal rights' voicing the fact they generally feel uncomfortable by use of the gender-neutral toilets.

'This was ultimately shut down by the senior leadership team who pulled the fire alarm to remove the students from the building.

'Another protest was planned by students for the next day in the multi-use games area, so there is more space and would be much more carefully arranged in terms of safeguarding.'

Another 'TikTok riot' last Friday even forced Warriner School to scrap new rules on a 'gender neutral' PE kit and a ban on girls wearing skirts.

The school in Banbury Oxfordshire has since backed down, saying it had reversed its decision to enforce a gender-neutral uniform policy.

On the school's website, Dr Annabel Kay, the executive headteacher, apologised for 'under-estimating the strength of feeling on this issue' and 'not properly engaging or consulting with all parents and students'.

She said: 'We have listened to our students and we are committed to engaging further on our uniform policy, and on other future policy changes, with both parents and students in a constructive and positive manner.'

At another school in Greater Manchester, students are being forced to queue outside before being 'searched' to check they have their 'learning resources ready'.

Hogwarts Legacy might actually be one of the first times where society didn't blindly follow them in the name of acceptance. These tantrum throwing troons for once in their lives didn't get what they wanted from screaming and crying on social media and they simply don't know how to handle it. Some are still trying to chase people off the Internet for playing the game but all that's doing is making more people hit peak trans and wake up to the fact that these people are nothing but a bunch of immature bullies who threaten and harass others so they can feel better about themselves.

I hope in the future they continue to receive more power checks like this as they still need to be knocked down a few more pegs. They think they have complete control over culture and society, from the kinds of entertainment you're allowed to enjoy to having privacy in a public bathroom. It's time more people understand that there's power in numbers and if enough people band together we can finally start telling them, "No".

You don't even need "the numbers", you need one. There have been a few interesting studies on conformity but the one that springs to mind is a study where a classroom was filled with actors which the test subject didn't know was the case. The teacher would show selections of lines and, iirc, ask which was longest. The actors were told to give the wrong answer. The study was on how many people would stick to what they believed (and was) the right answer when they were surrounded by disagreement. I don't recall the exact figure but I think it was something like 40% would change their choice to fit in with the others. It was a public choice done by raising and lowering hands.

The key part is this. When a SINGLE other person gave the right answer as well, the rate of conformity plummeted. Some people, many people, just need one other voice so they can join it rather than be alone.

My local school's have gone down the route of "cracking down" on toilet breaks in lessons. They've gone so far as to make girls carry a red card to show the teacher so they can go to the loo.

I will say my children's school revolted so hard, a riot broke out and police were called. The teachers are blaming the kids, but - as usual - the young teens are not being listened to; the kids signed a petition and the teachers tore it up. Hence the protest that turned into a riot.

Kids can't be intimidated with loss of income and legal action the way adults are. Someone else is paying their bills for them. These are the kids who're growing up with Muslims, mass immigration, and being told that they're racist for wanting to preserve their own fucking culture in their own fucking country. There are many things that can be used to intimidate an adult into submission, but only a few of those things will be seen as relevant to an early teen. Everyone in the UK might be pissed off, but the adults can't do anything about it without effectively having their income and social standing annihilated. The kids, on the other hand, have both much more to gain and less to lose by flipping their shit.

Someone mentioned earlier that students have to get a card and their bathroom breaks are tightly controlled-in the US’s that due to niggers and general breakdown, drug use, fights, etc… happen in bathrooms, as well as just trying to get out of class. It’s prisonlike without a doubt but there is a reason for it.
