/r/childfree is a weird place. They have visceral hate for any children and parents. At the same time they have a worship relationship with their pets that's more annoying than any parent I've met. A while ago I saw a post of one of them doing a professional photoshoot for her pregnant dog celebrating it and everyone one was circle jerking over it.

I feel like most of them can't have kids for whatever reason and trying to cope by treating their pets as permanent/cheaper/low maintenance babies.

Actually, it was the ousting of the "free speach" CEO Yishan late 2014 then appointing SJW hoe Ellen Pao ( and later Spez) that changed the site. After that reddit admins started getting more "hands-on" in content moderation from stern warning, quarantines, bans, replacing mods who don't play balls, etc.

The vast majority of people on that sub who don't want children... like it isn't because they were abused themselves as children and want to stop the cycle or don't want to pass on a mental/physical health problem. The userbase of r/childfree is full of people who are incredibly hedonistic like the rest of Reddit and have a visceral reaction to anyone around them having a child.
