I feel they have good criteria, and they also agree with what Null was saying about the forum rules. This whole ordeal going off the rails wasn't even about that, so I think they're good choices (if they want to be).

At the risk of throwing more fuel onto the fire, just wanted to chime in with my 2 cents.

I can understand why people are upset about being lumped into general categories. I'm sure as shit guilty of it myself at times. The best thing you can do is take a second to think about what the person is actually saying. Null was speaking in generalized terms because he doesn't normally post here, so he's not going to really know people's names. Or if he's talking about general problems, he'll just say "the board" he won't make a list of all the specific people. That doesn't mean he's actually calling you out.

My basic premise is I think "does this apply for me." With the recent Nigel stuff, I was late to the party, didn't see the comment until after the shitshow began. So, even though I'm "part of the board" and technically, the broad generalization that's used to make communication easier, doesn't actually apply to me because I wasn't part of the problem. If you feel called out or whatever, you're probably not. And, to be perfectly blunt, there's a good chance the person calling you out doesn't even know or care about you. Again, I'm including myself in that. If Null is calling the board out, unless he specifically pulls a quote of something I'd said, it's probably not me because I'm a "literal who" on this board. I'd say the vast majority of posters are.

It's like when you're younger and one of your siblings does something bad. Your parents come in and see the house is a mess or whatever and just offer a generic "You guys always make a mess, clean this up, don't do it again." It feels unfair because it was your sibling that did it, and I imagine if most little kids were like me, you'd try and argue and insist it was your sibling or whatever. And then the typical response is basically "it doesn't matter, just clean it up."

The parent really doesn't give that much of a shit, they just want the house cleaned. If it was something more serious, like, a kid broke a neighbors window, then they'd take the time to find out which one did it and talk to them personally. Null doesn't really give a shit about what happens here, he just doesn't want us doing crimes. I don't feel the need to go "But Null, I am one of the guys and I was not doing crimes, acknowledge this and apologize" because I know that "the guys" does not literally mean "every poster on the DSP board."

TLDR- If you know you didn't do something wrong when someone is broadly called out, just assume it doesn't apply to you.
