Cognitive dissonance really is the perfect term for it because they can't allow themselves to see what she's talking about. This entire saga started because JK was commenting on women being erased via language and it only escalated from there. Prison rapes, literal men with penises going into women's spaces, child transitioning. All things that regular people can understand just fine, but they need to believe that she's just an evil Nazi who lit literally empowering roving bands of fucking whoevers to go kill trans people even though that has never fucking happened.

The biggest problem with... most communities nowadays, but especially the LGBTs, is they feel the need to circle the wagons and defend and revere even the most dispicable people who happen to share that one traits they have in common and make their identity around and defines their "community". They have this idea like "If I dont defend this gay pedophile, then people will think all gays are pedophiles." when... constantly defending pedophile because they're their "fellow gays" is what makes people think they're all pedophiles WAY MORE.
But you see it with other communities as well. Its a meme that BLM always puts the guy who was waving a gun and shooting wildly at people while committing a crime up on a pedestal, instead of the guy with a job who got shot even while complying. White nationalist celebs like Ralph and Fuentes being bigger niggers than the blacks they say society would be better without.
