Anybody else have a problem with Ellie’s casting? I mean, props to the casting director for trying to cast someone who isn’t “conventionally attractive”, I guess, but goodness gracious…

She looks like she barely escaped Down Syndrome, not to mention her acting is fucking shit. This show isn’t as good as people are making it out to be.
Clichés are sometimes unavoidable, along with certain cliched terms in language; i.e. 'dead to rights', 'silent as a grave', etc. But they are effective until they become part of the lexicon, and are therefore not cliched anymore. But all stories, even the most celebrated ones, have tropes, something TVTropes is autistic over. TLOU has the 'grizzled old man who hates the world who grows softer when he meets little girl' thing, and, of course, the Papa Bear trope. It's got the End of the World trope, and the clichés involved with that, but what makes the IP stand out is the environment and character interactions. Razorfist, as you know, bitches about the Witcher stealing from Michael Moorcock's work, when both protagonists have white hair and live in a magical realm, fighting evil. Both are clichés and tropes. But the characters are fundamentally different. There are two articles on how to avoid cliches

Except Hollywood writers and fantards are never gonna take this advice to heart
Funny thing about that is that Maria and Tommy are considered the 'leaders', which means they still have a hierarchy. If you have a hierarchy based on skill set/meritocracy, that isn't 'communism'. You live in a commune, but you're less communal than a Mennonite homestead."So communism"
"We live in a community, we are communists"
Very subtle...
Whoever wrote that line deserves to get their asses kicked
HARD
Why does this look like a Netflix live-action remake of Little Witch Academia that never exists but it's going to sooner or later? Kidding aside, I might check out The Worst Witch.View attachment 4717364
My daughter and I like the show, but my wife thinks she's a giant malformed fetus. My theory is that she was on those growth stunting drugs. Why? She was a tiny kid on game of thrones and her parents probably thought her character would last. Now in the Worst Witch? It's because she was fucking 15~16 when the rest of the cast of fucking 10~14. Some say it's a birth defect, I believe it's a side effect. Either way, her head got bigger but her face remained the same shape.
And it's fucking hilarious that she left the show because she turned into a complete fucking diva.
A lot of the mainstream industry hire millennials and zoomers to write shitty fanfic in order to pass themselves off as "writers."Clichés are sometimes unavoidable, along with certain cliched terms in language; i.e. 'dead to rights', 'silent as a grave', etc. But they are effective until they become part of the lexicon, and are therefore not cliched anymore. A writer's workshop I once attended pretty much stressed don't focus on clichés too much as they'll drag you down, but don't be afraid, either. If it takes a life of it's own, good.
However, I have noticed that progshits will write the most inane, predictable, illogical pieces of shit seen anywhere - be it published mediums or fanfic - and they get really, really pissed off when you point out their clichés go absolutely nowhere. TLOU II tried to be 'subversive' by smashing Joel's head in. All it did was piss off the fandom because that isn't how Joel would've acted while living his entire life on the run.
i have read fanfic better than this shitA lot of the mainstream industry hire millennials and zoomers to write shitty fanfic in order to pass themselves off as "writers."
The difference is that people who write fanfic as a hobby actually care about the universe and the characters.i have read fanfic better than this shit
They already retconned Joel and Ellie visiting the town, cutting the entire dam part and presumably showed the girl that's going to be Ellies lesbian interest from part 2. I wouldn't put it past them.I bet abby will show up in the finale.
If anything, they'll cop out with a dumbass cliffhangerThey already retconned Joel and Ellie visiting the town, cutting the entire dam part and presumably showed the girl that's going to be Ellies lesbian interest from part 2. I wouldn't put it past them.

That's hilariously accurate- the worst thing about the show is the budget. It's like they wanted to make grandiose retelling of the books, but then halfway through someone looked at the ledger and said "holy shit this is cutting into my coke money, tone it down!"Why does this look like a Netflix live-action remake of Little Witch Academia that never exists but it's going to sooner or later? I hated how in the remastered versions of the game they went out of the way to draw attention to the dude.Okay bois let's make predictions. How will the final episode bend itself backwards to "help" justify the stupidity of TLOU2
Will they:
a) Make the Fireflies "hopsital" very professional clean (like in the remake) and advanced to make Joel's decision much more emotional and paint him as an evil selfish MAN.
b) End the show with Abby finding his dead dad and also introduce him in the episode as a very happy person-kid.
c) Do the Zebra scene.
d) [Add your own]
