Real question: what's is the point of an individual getting his IQ tested? I can see its use in scientific papers, but not for the person taking it

- If it comes back High: you're still the same, but now you get pressure and performance anxiety.
- If it comes back Low: you're still the same, but now you feel bad about yourself.

Both cases: you're a few hundred bucks poorer.

Maybe I'm just being obtuse, but to me it's just like video game achievements/trophies: you're just waisting* time doing something that brings you nothing back but MAYBE a fleeting sense of accomplishment that will become meaningless as soon as you leave your bed in the morning.

I just don't get it. I am missing something here?

*Edit: I could correct the "waisting" grammar error, but I'd much rather you guys think my 180-level-IQ made a "Pat is fat" joke only other genius like me and Pat would get.
IQ tests aren't to determine how smart you are they are designed to determine how dumb you are, usually for medical reasons so let's say you have a stroke and they want to see how impaired you are they'll give you an IQ test.

Proof that all online IQ tests (and many so-called "professional" ones) are complete and utter horseshit. I have no doubt he has some certificate he printed out and framed to hang on his wall from some fly-by-night internet "testing authority" that's worth less than the shrink-wrap the frame shipped in.

Even the brick-and-mortar houses parents that take their "gifted" kids to have a vested interest in giving a higher score to encourage parents to pay them more for the "accelerated education track" grift (source: scored "161" at eleven years old at a "gifted" institution, but am absurdly dumb IRL as my posting history here undoubtedly proves :story:).

This ought to be a coined/named "law" at this point: anybody who brags about their IQ is guaranteed to be a fucking idiot. And yes, this also applies to me.

Justin ruining Pat's day already:

Pat has finally found someone who knows he's crazy, doesn't care about anything he says, and only will argue with him on their terms. Also his Twitter is dead - his tweets get no views and no engagement, only a few months ago he went viral twice and now nothing works. I'm wondering if his constant reply spam has something to do with it, he's like one of those bots that occasionally has a human come in to make it seem real.

Bro can we just call taking an expensive phone swimming an IQ test?

Look.. IQ is a trap that makes internet austists seethe. If you’re not tall and you’re not athletic and you’re not good-looking and your personality sucks and you can’t get laid, then IQ is your last cope.

I mean I believe in it, I think it’s a worthwhile metric that’s measuring something real, IF you go have one in person and it’s administered by a clinical psychologist.

But, there’s no profound, positive effect on your life. You’re not more likely to succeed if you have a high IQ, you’re not guaranteed to be good at things.

Correct me if I'm wrong but haven't we seen his high school or college transcript that shows him getting something like a 1.7 GPA? Is he actually like Einstein who was a genius but sucked at school?
That's including phys ed or something. Also Einstein sucking at school is exaggerated.

What am I even looking at
Some guy got laid off or fired from twitter and started flinging shit on twitter and elon said he didn’t actually do any work and now the guy is tweeting about how he’s disabled, or something along those lines. You can just chalk it up to elon making people on twitter mad, there’s nothing remarkable with this one from what I’ve seen.
