Those who believe governments are super efficient, all-knowing precision machines don’t live in my world. It’s relatively easy to get away with shit. Chantal could pass that medical, it’s just a blood test and chest X-ray. Unless she has active STDs or pneumonia it’s not going to be a big deal. They don’t care if she’s healthy, just that she doesn’t spread disease around.

Not defending chinny but a ravenous appetite and failure to gain weight are extremely common symptoms for hyperthyroidism. On the flip side, leaving that untreated leaves BBJ feeling likes she's starving constantly but never able to feel satiated. Untreated hyperthyroidism can also lead to cardiac issues, which may explain a heart murmur that may not have been present at the last exam.

Ehhh, I seem to remember that she said she was "Supposed to wear them for driving" meaning they're at least distance glasses not near-sighted cheap-o's from the drugstore, she just treats her glasses like they're $15.

She used to wear them a lot more, but always chucked them when trying to impress a man, so I assumed they'd only made a reoccurance in Canada because she was driving. (Didn't help, she still doesn't pay enough attention not to run red lights.) I would hope she brought them, but eh, she has no intelligence and is also too vain to wear them in front of Saladtron. Yeah, she's 500 lbs and stinks and no longer wears makeup because she's so DEVOUT, but I can totally see in her kindergarten brain that "glasses = unattractive nerd" so she'd rather have bad vision. And I applaud her! May she not see things coming and get whacked with a 2x4! (or a 4x4)

She might also have ditched wearing them if they don't really do much for her at this point. Diabetic vision issues are progressive and typically not something glasses can help with. She may think "oh my vision is blurry because my glasses are out of date, why bother wearing them" when actually it's the Lord Beetus breaking down her vascular system.

This is absolutely true. I know people who've been made blind, or legally blind from diabetes and it's mainly from blood leaking in the "gel" in the eyeball from tiny compromised capillaries. So it's not a focussing issue.

She also could be forming cataracts; glasses won't help there, either.
