Stuff like this happened all the time in high school. We used to have a Sadie Hawkins dance every year and it would be a challenge for the girls to find the most nerdy and unpopular freshman they could and ask him. They'd butter him up, sit with him at lunch and then when it came time for the dance they'd "meet them there" and either stand them up or show up with their real date.

I'll admit it was mean in some cases because you had these kids who really thought they landed some hot mama but that's high school. We were all a bunch of immature little shits back then. Some of us still are but that's another story.

Connor on the other hand never grew up. He's still got a "high school" mentality to this day. Blame autism and whatever all you want, he's still a sped.

He can't believe that people can honestly form a loving bond with someone who isn't their blood progeny and that people would willingly offer up their hearts and homes to someone who he would consider in his own situation a stranger. He believes that there has to be an ulterior motive to adoption, and that people can't just be decent human beings. I wouldn't be proud of my kid if they were lazy, unproductive, and kind of acts like a jerk around other people. Earlier in the thread, if I recall, Connor was whining about this "Jesus freak" guy that was the closest thing Connor had to a friend, and even in his descriptions, he sounded much more decent than Connor made him out to be. Connor's parents aren't the only victims of his wrath, everyone he's ever interacted with (including KF) he'll just turn on.
