Nintendo Switch (Currently Plagued) - Here we shit post about the new Nintendo console, The Switch

Taking bets now, which is going to be the last retro console with longevity: Wii or 3DS?
Wii for chilling on the coutch, 3DS for playing on the go. Both are also relatively easy to hack. and don't take fucking forever to load shit like the WiiU does. it also isn't heavily reliant on the gimmics (Wii = motion controls, 3DS = touchscreen. Both of these are a non-factor when hacked)

WiiU is in the fucking strange middle-ground where while it is slightly powerful than the Wii, it's 1st party library has had ports and/or updated versions of them on the switch. You can't take the pad anywhere far from the machine or else it has a panic attack, even if it is relatively close to it, you need to make sure that theres nothing blocking the connection, and if the pad dies, you're fucked. That pad is THE thing that handicaps the machine from being something better.

Apparently not using the system kills it
nintendo took those bad sales hard didn't they
I really hope mine still works, the Wii U is the only way to play Splatoon multiplayer locally and I really don't want to lose that...

Both of them are on the same level because they're kind of in the same situation
>Backwards compatibility with their predecessors
>eShop titles sometimes got physical releases but not always. eShop was relatively prolific and shut down within a decade and a half of the console's release
>great successes during a time when Nintendo was transitioning out of/still handling the remains of absolute failures
>plentiful units due to large success; essentially as valuable as doorstoppers, and (should be) about as easy to get. Prices are obviously scalped regardless so that this isn't the case, but both will definitely last a while due to sheer volume of their product out there

3DS I think will last a little longer just due to coming out later, but the Wii is already looking to be borderline immortal with how people are reviving its internet capabilities and I think some are even looking to revive the Shopping channel (if nothing else, I'm confident people are distributing ROMs of its titles in an attempt to keep them alive. I don't think the same can be said for 3DS, at least right now. Correct me if i'm wrong)

Time to celebrate over 10 years of Wii U
Wii U: [Fucking dies]

So, I guess no retro scene for Wii U then. Apparently not using the system kills it. One would think a console would die of overuse, not the opposite. Hopefully hackers fix the issue, otherwise Wii U is probably dead.

Taking bets now, which is going to be the last retro console with longevity: Wii or 3DS? In saying this, it is a little sad that the seventh gen and further is seemingly going to be inaccessible as the hardware was designed with too much happening to last.
I am not watching that douchey looking guy. Is it just because the battery inside will die if not charged occasionally?

I care so little about my Wii U that I don't even care to go plug mine in. I don't think I've played it once in the last four years.

It sounds like a few users have memory corruption, so standard computer issues. He tries to stretch it to ten minutes for monetization but really only had about 20 seconds of shit to say.

It is something about the system needing to update profiles otherwise a memory issue occurs like @whatever I feel like said. I think it has the same sort of issue as something like the PS3 clock if I recall. Too many parts and data to keep track of, so the system ends up shitting itself eventually. It is why I proposed the question of Wii or 3DS as they seem to lack all the extra shit that gets corrupted and goes bad after years.

Here is an article on it.

I charged mine up after two years and it was fine. Had to update, but no issues otherwise. I'm thinking this is a hoax.

Hey that's Inazuma Eleven Victory Road! Thanks for keeping the flame alive. Hopefully you end up getting it, too.

Looked pretty good. My only real gripe is that the gameplay looks very slow; however that is also likely not late-game footage. The match they showed clips of later on in the trailer looked a bit faster. Otherwise everything looks great. It's more of what worked on a bigger system. This is good. I can also use their chronicle mode to recreate my perfect teams from the DS versions of the game. It has every character "making an appearance" so hopefully they can be used in matches and on teams.

I just typed “nintendo switch meme” in Yandex Images search and pressed the “Recent“ tab to see if anything came up, and this was the first thing I saw:

I can’t put my finger on it, but I think it’s the glasses.

Bowser Defends $70 Zelda Pricing, Nintendo Still "Very Bullish" About Switch

Doug Bowser said:
We look at what the game has to offer. I think fans will find this is an incredibly full, deeply immersive experience. The price point reflects the type of experience that fans can expect when it comes to playing this particular game. This isn’t a price point that we’ll necessarily have on all our titles. It’s actually a fairly common pricing model either here or in Europe or other parts of the world, where the pricing may vary depending on the game itself.
One of the reasons that even going into year seven we feel very confident that the Switch can have a strong performance over the next few years is that it is still truly that unique device that you can play in a variety of ways, at home, on the go. One of the things we look at always is how can we surprise and delight. How can we introduce new unique ways of playing. That’s always in front of our mind.

$70 is nothing. All you piss babies crying about it amuses because back in the day with fucking cartridges some of them would cost $70 brand new.

If it's $70 and you get some free DLC then that's fine. Quit crying that you have to pay $10 more for your consoomer bullshit.
This. When Final Fantasy 6 first came to the SNES I paid 80 dollars for it new at K-Mart, which is like 115 dollars in today's money. When I was a kid I got maybe 2 games a year from my parents. Usually just 1 on Christmas.

Most (if not all) of us are adults with jobs who can easily spend $70 on a video game, so I can definitely see where you’re coming from, but I’d say it’s more about the reasoning. People have already been complaining about how Nintendo never lowers its $60 MSRP during an era of frequent 75%+ discounts for larger-budget games on more powerful systems, and plenty of great indie games for significantly cheaper (a lot of shit games too, but that’s not the point). Nintendo responding by increasing prices just feels like a slap in the face. Like how people complained that $5 was too much for NES Virtual Console, and Nintendo responded by charging $8 for Vs. Super Mario Bros.

And they say prices will be determined on a case-by-case basis, but we all know $70 will be the norm within 1-2 years. Just like how most big games right now are $60 with the occasional $50 release, they’ll go up to $70 with the occasional $60, all because they know people will pay it.

Bold of you to assume TotK won’t get a $20 expansion announced before the game’s release.
