His life may not depend on it but his career surely does. Im not defending Troy Baker at all but I recognise he is in a very privileged position in terms of voice actors. Him, alongside with Nolan North and Tera Strong kind of established a very strong presence in the voice acting industry. Why hire 5 guys/gals for 5 characters when you can hire Troy/Nolan/Tera for most of them? They are identifiable and people love familiarity. They have very flexiable voice range so they can play most types of characters. They were everywhere during the PS3 era and this isnt necessarily their fault, they were just doing their jobs but companies almost established a monopoly around them. It has improved since but the trio are still very "powerful" in the voice acting industry.

But all of that can be taken away very VERY easily and they are VERY aware of that. I dont know if Troy believes his own bullshit but he knows he has to say what the people that allow him to be in such blessed position want to hear. 2016 was very telling and it drew the line in the sand for any celebrity that didnt go with the narrative, "we can and WILL blacklist you and destroy your career just because you didnt agree with us". No on the hospital being better. Ellie does not explicitly consent to anything, it happens as it does in the game.

They don't bring Abby up but the doctor appears to be the same one killed before. He even says the same line(s).

Joel doesn't mindlessly kill the doctors but he does come in pretty soon after they put Ellie under. He kills every soldier he comes across though even surrendering ones. It's implied by the end they are basically all dead. In the game he has to sneak out while carrying Ellie.

Ellie is indeed unconscious the entire time ala the game.

He doesn't say that infected overrun the hospital but it's essentially the same. He claims raiders attack and he just barely got Ellie out of there. Every line before that is the same as in the game.
