While I don't care on an individual level if someone wants to make the choice not to have a family, like you said, most people do. We don't define categories by their exceptions, and since the average woman will become a mother in her lifetime, yes, motherhood is a core part of womanhood. It might be sexist to say that motherhood is the single most important thing that woman can do and nothing else about them matters, but you weren't saying that.
