I am more impressed that the admin team has been continuously LARPing the whole stasi/khmer rouge role after all of these years. You'd think they would lose interest after banning and running everyone out of the forums. Didn't they go through the mandatory "eat each other alive" phase of the cycle already?

I think they're just confused on why the place isn't growing in spite of being the most Troll-free forum on the Internet. There's also the momentum that the site's been coasting for at least a decade now that still will keep it running as long as there's a few dozen angry spergs buying each other passive-aggressive avatars but knowing the average goon's physique, one can estimate that the site's got maybe half a decade in the tank before the inevitable girth related problems and troonery's usual consequences starts really culling the pack.

How many user's is Kiwifarms sitting at now? Could this place end up eclipsing the SA forums in a few years?

If you're talking about real, active members then KF is miles ahead of SA and it isn't even close.

Whole swathes of SA are just completely dead, no one on the site produces any kind of content anymore. Even the main forum, GBS, only has like 40 active threads by daily metric (as in the last post of other threads hasn't updated to today).

A lot more people are logged in as it's a requirement over there to read, but post counts are comically low. The highest post per day ratio on SA (by their metrics) is 11, with number 100 coming in at 2. If you post twice a day on SA, you're in the top 100.

More like a few years ago. I looked up both Something Awful and the Kiwi Farms on the Alexa web traffic rankings (before it was shut down last year), and KF was ranked higher than SA.

Jeffrey shared new account registration data a while ago, and it was miserable. Steadily dropping month after month. Recent months had low double digits. Meanwhile, KF has been doubling its member count each year.

Something Awful just isn't relevant anymore. There's nothing there for anyone who isn't already a forever-goon.

I think I've mentioned this before but Fark.com and Ebaumsworld get a lot more tourists than the ruins of SomethingAwful, which gets a little over 2 million visits per month.

To be fair - that isn't a great metric.

Signing up on KF is free, whereas on SA it still costs $10 - which is still the most hilarious and out of touch thing that SA does in modern times. Imagine paying to post on SA when it's literally free everywhere else (including Kiwi Farms).

But they can't remove the sign-up fee. It's the most troll-free forum on the Internet, all the kids are going there to escape the howling chuds, so they're kind of stuck with it. Imagine if everyone could just sign up for free and misgender the troons.

Ironic that the $10 fee was originally introduced to keep out the retards, now it's there to keep the retards safe.

So I checked in the lepers colony because I cant see why bans keep happenng that new mod banned Ned account from fucking 2002.

It seems Ned lives in japan and in the japanese thread. He often asks goons making the weebhaji to stay with him. Ned is also friends with some IRL streamers that live in japan.

One of said streamers kissed a 19 year old blacked out drunk japanese girl on stream. Basically raping a minor since adult age is 20 in japan.

Ned basically denounced what his "friend" did and said he told the dude to leave that situation but the denunciation wasnt loud enought and he remarked that people do sketchy shit in japan.

This got a ban plus 30.
