At what point did Chris finally snap?

Going by the documentary, and other sources, I think he went "shocking" around the time after he left school/college.
He seems like a regular nerd up to that point. There are even photos of him dancing with china at the prom.

Chris pretty much had the deck stacked against him from the day of conception. With his parents, his upbringing, and environment he pretty much never had a chance. Maybe if he'd been born to younger, healthier, more proactive parents who not only tried to get him all the help he could get and brought up with siblings so he wasn't spoiled rotten by people old enough to be his grandparents and had to share his toys and his parents attention he probably would have turned out much better, but that's a huge hypothetical. But there's nothing we can do but speculate and watch as Chris' train continues its slow and inevitable derailment, crash and burn.

He was batshit insane from the beginning but after the house fire and Bob's death something just snapped and changed, maybe it was just that Bob wasn't there to keep him quiet with his shit, but it was as if someone opened some door or let him off his chains of sanity, some kind of new level of insane was released.

Becoming a trans being one of the strongest signs of some bigger gear falling from the clock that is his brain.

Because of his autism, he's obviously always been a bit...retarded.

But he wasn't always bad as this, as anyone watching his videos can attest to.

Watching Chris, very few events seem to phase him for long but over the years the effects have built up. Combined with his comparative isolation, his reasoning & communication have also gradually gotten worse, and that's what's the cause of the difference.

I'm not saying he's snap-proof; Bob's death certainly shook him up even if his inability to convey things muddies things a little - if anything were to cause him to snap, it'd be the death of Barb and the aftermath.

He seems a lot more bitter and cynical nowadays. When he was first "discovered" he was lonely, depressed, and arguably mentally ill. But he was still somewhat innocent. He really was just a little kid in an adult's body. As time has gone on he's only gotten more isolated from people in his life as far as we can tell. His behavior keeps getting more and more erratic and he seems like he's terrified of the future. He used to have some amount of optimism at the very least. Now it seems like he doesn't.

I feel like the standard line that Chris "bounces back" from things isn't exactly true. I think he just bottles them up and does his best to forget them. His way of dealing with trauma, seemingly, is to just pretend that nothing happened. But really, you can't. Chris has been publicly humiliated on a near constant basis for the past 10 years. Result being that now we have a depressed, paranoid, delusional person who often comes off like he's randomly lashing out at everybody around him

I personally think his lack of childhood friends or really anybody who he could actually go up to to vent issues, chat with, and just be there for him made him snap. I mean, not even his own parents were really "there" for him as far as I could tell. Having that much isolation in a lifetime can loosen the screws of anybody, really.

I would go into detail on how I came up with this theory, but that would require me to explain my own personal life (since I'm autistic and had similar issues in my childho-yadda yadda yadda nobody cares : P) and this isn't the kind of forum to explain that stuff.

I think it may have been said before but I think Chris snapped after the death of Bob, check here http://sonichu.com/cwcki/
You can make a comparison of the things Chris started doing after Bob died, think about it, what can we expect after the death of Barb? Only time will tell..

I wonder if Bob's death caused a snap or if it just removed a key force stopping him from doing odder stuff that he wanted (was being prompted) to do already.
That is what I was trying to say but I suck at english, good work mate.

To suggest Chris "snapped" is fairly diengenous. The guy's always been a weirdo even well before trolls took an interest. He's had some serious low points, obviously, but the guy's ability to suddenly change his attention and seemingly forget all about things is truly staggering.

But if I absolutely had to choose a start of darkness, I'd say it was the beginning of the Love Quest. At that point, Chris basically defined himself by his need for a girlfriend, which is what motivated all his social interactions basically from that point onward.
