I always assumed the drug things where part of the joke since I wasn't closely following interviews/discord/ect. While I doubt he would respond at all and especially with some inside scoop about whats going on, couldn't we theoretically tag him? He is verified with a KF account in this thread if I recall.

He has a account but i think he posted 2 whole things on it and never logged in again, as for the drugs thing i am pretty sure he was on copious amounts of normal pills for a long time, i don't think that was a joke, but i doubt he was on any sort of illegal drugs.

I spoke to him in DM's through his Discord, a few years before he nuked it. Around 2019 maybe?
He mentioned he has ADHD (or ADD don't recall) and that ritalin "basically gave him autistic superpowers" and that he could "focus and study for hours on end". Paraphrasing, especially since I've nuked discord myself and this was years ago. He was pretty darn friendly and chatty, just took weeks to respond at a time.

He talked about having ADHD and taking Adderall on one of his streams.

also, iirc, during the end segment of one of his videos in the last year he said he was finally going off the drug and the effects it's been having on him, which is undoubtedly the reason behind the sudden shift in his videos and schedule.

In case anybody wasn't paying attention with the Covid shit, scientific investigation is basically a gigantic circlejerk. If Sseth happens to not align with the faggotry his department is pushing and nobody gives a shit about what he wants to look into, lets say I'm not suprised he would become disillusioned. Specially if he became a pill junkie to keep up with the profession, which just adds salt to the wound of "why the hell did I bother".

He always said he did it for the money, having a competent editor who knows how to copy his style and give him his platform with higher output and with a cut of the money just to narrate seems like a good idea. I do miss his own work, it's not that the new guys' work is BAD per se, it's just not Sseth.

Power to him for having the balls to ditch the pills and especially for going through with it, even if no more quality shitpost reviews are the tradeoff. I've personally got a gut feeling he's shifted focus to projects that may or may not involve Youtube videos at all and these more consistent lower quality videos are a way of bankrolling them.

Possibly working on a small game of some kind in a directorship and funding capacity. Like I said, gut feeling and decent chance to be wrong, but the man's got a creative spark to him that I don't think is done yet. It is either that or he's slowly moving away from his online presence and there'll come a time where he just disappears...

Tbh I wonder what he'd do "instead", like you gotta pay the bills somehow and passion isn't legal tender so he'd have to do something. Be a doctor?

No, seriously, the study he worked on and the lecture about it are amazing. Obviously, not something that's gonna work for every case, but it'd be a promising way of treatment to further study, if it wasn't capable of disrupting the pharmaceutical companies' cancer economy.
