We did get a decent little copypasta out of it though:
Just shoot _________ in the head and he stops being a problem. They have to find a new guy to be the problem...But shooting _________ in the head solves an immediate problem permanently. Just shoot _________ in the head and murder him.

This sheriff actually accused people of hiding behind freedom of speech. His response to minor criticism is having a man arrested and publicly humiliating him instead of doing his job. Gee guys, I'm beginning to think Jews may be an existential threat to the freedoms of the United States. Anyway, here are some posts:

If enough people do what the OP did then there will be too many people for Cuckwood to arrest, alls I'm saying.

These niggers should be put up against a wall and shot.

This opinion is entirely protected by the First Amendment.
Incitement of lawless action is not covered by the 1st Amendment.
these stupid niggers, he said "in minecraft." how can you interpret that as a death threat
I think Null once said that nowadays "in minecraft" holds as much weight as "in the irl". The law has caught up in that lingo.

Again what the fuck do you label as "incitement" and what documents are you trusting on this? I'd like to see if people were getting arrested for saying "inciting" things about politicians states away from them a few decades back.

I use many healthy alternative imageboards for specialized topics.
I guess it really depends on your tastes, social skills, and especially the altchans/altchan spheres that you go into. But the death of quality IBs usually occurs by either of these:
  • community slowly dwindles away with a functioning site
  • community implodes on itself with a functioning site (metadrama/spamming/general IQ drop)
  • admin's mental state falls apart with a functioning site (admins can either go powerhungy or insane)
  • site stops functioning
It can very well happen that there is a normal IB centered on topic, admin and mods in touch with reality. And then the quality just suddenly plummets and everyone goes to do metadrama/spamming/low quality posts. Sure thing people can always migrate, but that leaves the userbase fractured and those who haven't had the luck to meet the people and establish one-on-one contacts are often left without a choice, which is not ideal. And to add insult to injury in the fourth case if the IB was obscure enough. there will probably be not much surviving evidence of it even existing in the first place. Other than its initial shilling on other sites.

But I have to admit that there are a handful of moderately healthy IB communities (as sane as you can get on altchans), but even on there, posts are only allowed as long as it doesn't cross the moderators' line. Which is fine alone, there needs to be a sanity check. The issues start arrising when that line of "acceptable" moves, which can happen easily.

Anyone who uses alternative imageboards for even a short amount of time will see child pornography spam which is completely automated, targets several imageboards at exactly the same time, and links to domains on the clearnet. Isn't that odd?
I've definitely noticed that. Another odd thing is that (at least from my personal experience) real CP is overwhelmingly posted on altchans, not 4chan. I'm not an avid 4channer anymore, I sometimes still go back for happenings to see in which direction(s) are they sperging out. But not once, did I see CP dumps being posted, the same way as on altchans. Sure the moderation is way better, but I can't believe it's that airtight. Look at how long it takes to remove normal rule-offending posts on 4bans. Usually between 10-50 minutes I'd say. It's just weird to suppose, that they detect that CP that they are supposed to receive and then wait several times that time on other posts. But maybe I'm just wrong, I don't sit there refreshing the catalog like some sort of jannie.

4chan's overall userbase is much larger than several of the biggest altchans combined meaning there will almost always be someone immediately willing to report or comment on it, plus it's common knowledge that 4chan's moderation is dick-deep in glowies. The few who still try to post CP do so either because they have the security or lack-of-jurisdiction necessary to avoid trouble, or are too stupid to realize they're incriminating themselves.
Altchans have neither of these factors, meaning any enterprising piece of sludge can spam whatever they want on them with little issue.

4chan has zero issues when it comes to blocking images/files with copyright claims on it. I've had it happen to me several times.
So I'm just going to assume that a good majority of it gets blocked right from the get go.
The feds have had their hands dipped in 4chan for well over a decade. They paid moot several "visits" Especially after the giant CP shitstorm of 2010. There was a period that lasted a few months where there were some VERY dedicated posters flooding /b/ /r/ and loads of other boards with images and gifs with loads of material from a lot of Russian CP producers (who have since been imprisoned)
One "company" in particular was dumped there a lot.
The feds have massive archives of everything that they've discovered/confirmed to be CP. Plus it gets updated constantly.
So it isn't unreasonable to think that they haven't stepped in with their own access to block the spread of the stuff that they know about from being posted and spread.

People were getting arrested for it a century ago under 18 USC Section 871, see United States v. Stickrath:
[Stickrath] did unlawfully, knowingly, and willfully make a threat against the President of the United States, to wit, a threat to take the life of or to inflict bodily harm upon the said the President of the United States, said threat being then and there uttered and spoken by the said Pemberton W. Stickrath in words and substance as follows, to wit: 'President Wilson ought to be killed. It is a wonder some one has not done it already. If I had an opportunity, I would do it myself'-- contrary to the form of the statute.
The indictment was upheld in a district court. Whether this would happen in today's court is debatable but there is precedent for it. 18 USC Section 871 applies specifically to threats made against the president but doesn't lay any special definitions for what constitutes incitement.

This honestly should be the nail in the coffin for /pol/, why anyone would post there after this is beyond me. I jumped ship and migrated here relatively recently, but even a few years back the board culture was turning into shit. I’d been browsing the board for around a decade and it seems like everything went to utter shit post ‘rona. I feel as if a number of things coincided with this, like the quarantining of many controversial subs like thedonald and those devoted to incels, the boomers filtering in due to the Q bullshit, zoomies home from school discovering the internet, and the overwhelming demoralization campaigns run on the daily. The Russia shilling was really it for me personally, it’s like a new breed of posters have cropped up that can not be reasoned with. Rarely is there any actual conversation going. Plus the place obviously glows brighter than the sun at this point. What popular boards aren’t astroturfed by nu-pol users are astroturfed by troons, like /b/.

Regretfully this BS had trickled into other less conspicuous boards, you can’t go to /tv/ without seeing threads with incels seething about random women, or to traditionally feminine boards like /cgl/ without seeing troons making a mockery of the fairer sex.

Off my soapbox, but it’s depressing seeing a site once known as a bastion of free speech fall so hard.

That was in 1917, when the US had entered World War I and was part of Woodrow Wilson's unprecedented suspension of civil liberties of those opposed to the war. For a more recent one, check United States v. Bagdasarian, who was cleared of both personally threatening to kill Obama AND inciting others to kill Obama, despite making statements like "Obama fk the niggar, he will have a 50 cal in the head soon” and “shoot the nig country fkd for another 4 years+" since he did not personally threaten to kill Obama nor directly incite others to violence. Court cites Watts v. United States (Vietnam draftee cleared for making jokes about shooting LBJ) as precedent.

To compare, here's a case from 1967 with a court convicting a Vietnam War draftee for inciting others to kill the president. He made specific statements about when and where the president would be killed.

Additionally, Sheriff Chitwood and the New Jersey cops violated Article IV, Section 2 (Extradition Clause) and the Sixth Amendment by extraditing him to Florida, since the proper venue for the alleged crime is either New Jersey or a federal court, not Volusia County.

It's ludicrous that this dude is facing extradition to a notoriously corrupt county in the shithole known as Florida, where the sheriff who is personally interested in the case is the one who gets custody of him. Mike Shitwood, the homosexual faggot, should be [redacted] up against a [redacted] and then [redacted] in the [redacted] again and again until he is [redacted].

4/pol/ has been shit a long time my friend.

Hell I went to /vg/ for the first time in a long time. Lot more people just spamming ecchi of whatever attractive character they like in the threads. Like damn man I like some characters to but if I want pictures of them I'll look it up myself. Has it ways been that way?
Least the Dominions thread seems alright.

Newfags just pump and dump their lewd pics rather than actually talking about relevant shit or even engaging in waifufaggotry discourse.

This is a problem on so many boards. So many threads on /biz/ have coom bait as the pic for their OP so even on the odd chance that the OP wrote something substance half of the replies are "That's a man" (a small percentage of that is probably troons saying it, or at least that's a popular theory) or "Built for BBC."
