I wonder what the discussions were like when Sam began allowing these younger crew members in front of the camera. Some worked with him for years without appearing in anything, so I'm curious what the transition was like. I suspect part of it is Sam paying partly through exposure, which I guess isn't entirely unreasonable.

Still, though, I think most people have no problem with them being young but moreso a problem that they together put out a way worse product than MDE. I think those NFTs look cool and all but Sam must be retarded to think anyone but the dumbest faggots give a fuck about an NFT no matter how good it looked... and I say that as someone who donated to MDE early on for nothing because I liked the content and even the visual art style, etc.

just as a disclaimer, i know more about shit like eth sidechains. i didnt get into nfts at all so i could be wrong. but just from poking around on opensea, there are 2966 total jpegs that were minted for 0.25 eth each around the beginning of september (eth ~1600). thats $400 per jpeg or 1.18m total. this obviously doesnt include opensea's cut which i have no idea about. someone fill me in on if the opensea mint price includes gas? im assuming not.

Thanks. Even with the fees this seems like it probably generated more moolah than Sam's other projects and even though they look alright and are kinda funny I can't imagine they cost an awful lot to make.

Sam probably missed out on doubling his money by being late. Most shitcoin presale scheme type devs make money off the back of the suckers that buy into it a little too late. The devs give themselves several burner wallets with whitelist access and dump on the retards that buy after the presale, then abandon the project. Unless Sam is absolutely pure of heart in it for the tech, he was definitely planning on doing that before the crash. Hell I'm guessing he and all the guys were still deluded enough to buy some.

They are only enjoyable with clip channels (five or so minute rants about silly billies who use Protonmail and soy excuses behind anti-natalism, for example) - nearly all of whom are not officially affiliated with him, and they do a better job (RIP NewPill) than his official one - which I assume that even if he claimed copyright he wouldn't collect any ad revenue because of the unedited swearing, etc.

There's a lot of work that goes into each card and it's all original including the backgrounds and sound effects. Sam is working on the final steps and putting his signature effects on it. That's a pretty standard workflow for editing and I'm sure he's putting in way more time and effort than he realistically needs to. That's why I don't believe the project was a troll or whatever people are saying. He could have done that with one tenth of the effort.

Someone on /biz/ broke down the numbers and found they made around $700,000 within the first 24 hours for the NFT drop. They were on track to completely sell out within that time frame but shut it down early for a technical issue. The cards had six different rarity levels, and some 1/1 variants. Someone cracked the randomization algorithm and was able to mint some of the rarest cards each time so they shut it down. If anyone has a more in depth breakdown I'd like to see it.
