Steve Quest (p/k/a Montagraph) vs. Nicholas Robert Rekieta & Rekieta Law, LLC (2023)

I want Monty to win now. The bigger lolcow deserves to lose.

Monty has become incidental to the drama. I don't think that Monty can win in any real way anyway. The best that can be hoped for is Nick losing in the sense of Nick paying several times what the potential damages might have been in what are mostly unnecessary legal fees. Monty and attorney are not doing damage to Nick in the case so far. Nearly all the damage to Nick has been self-inflicted.

I'm sure the $250 you sent over to watch Nick do that shot was money well spent. A veritable investment in the quality of future content.

Joking aside, Rekieta himself describes what he does as grifting. Why wouldn't his audience not take him at his word and use the same term as he does to describe what it is that he does?
I don’t watch him so wasn’t aware of that. Of course, as ever, the source of Rekeita’s conflicts is Rekeita’s drunken behavior. The fact that he’s still buds with pedo promoter Dax Herrera reveals quite a lot about Nick‘s values and motivation in life.

And Rekieta has 5 kids and is still fine with the Diddler's love for Cuties.

Feels like only yesterday he was riffing on T. Greg for his GoFundMe to pay Randazza. (Campaign ended at $10,565 raised of $74,999 goal)

You know the moment [the GoFundMe] failed to take off, that Wolman and Randazza called up T. Greg and were like, "What the fuck? You promised us. You said you had the social media presence to raise money for this. Where's the fucking money, Greg?" I don't care what they say in public. "Where's the money, Greg. We can't keep doing the work, Greg. We need to get paid, Greg. Where's the fucking money?"

How far does the balldo have to be up your own ass to hire the guy whose partner you said was a faggot while smirking at his failure to defend Alex Jones in his defamation case? You're going to get grifted.

Oh no, rich lawyer man on the internet is getting sued by a retard and is now begging for money so he can keep paying his fancy out of state lawyer thousands an hour for a job local strip mall lawyer could do a for fraction the cost!
And Nick should know how effective strip mall lawyers can be. Strip mall lawyer Sam Johnson helped torpedo Vic Mignogna's case when he sniffed out Beard's notary fuckery.

Nick himself is practically a strip mall lawyer, and I'll believe him when he's said he's gotten good results for his criminal clients.

But it's all about the grift.

You have to give 21 day notice before filing the sanctions motion.
Update to this: unless I'm missing something, Randazza sent the letter to Schneider on February 22, and that should mean that the safe harbor period has concluded. We can now wait and see whether they follow through on filing a motion for sanctions against Schneider/Monty.

Nothing new is showing on MCRO at this time.

It could also be a hint that he really should hire a lawyer for his ethics issue because this one is serious, in the sense of "no, I didn't get your lawyer's response to the complaint."
I'm not sure this is true, but I'm highly amused at the concept that they basically told him "please send us a NON-retarded response." And Balldo man is just not getting it.

Not directly related to this topic but speaking of ethics issues did anything ever happen following that batch of 40-50 complaints being escalated when he read the names out loud? I'm kinda wondering if that had anything to do with how he's being treated now

I always had lawsplaining as my background noise at work and ever since he started focusing on Rumble that hasn't been as much of an option because I would always use youtube's download feature to listen and that happened around the same time so I haven't been able to keep up as easily. Rumble is a massive bandwidth hog even compared to streaming the youtube videos so streaming them from Rumble doesn't really work for me, not to mention I can't pause the playback with my headphones.

Nick going after Randazza and Wolman like that is what first flagged for me what a bitter, womanly dork he is. Low-T Doucette is an absolute piece of shit. Randazza and Wolman specialize in representing pieces of shit whose legal issues they deem important. They’re playing the ball, not the man. They’re not friends with Douchette; they took what they thought was an important case.

Nicole is always in his fucking feels. He can’t even imagine approaching law for its own sake. He works on things he’s extremely emotional about, usually based on Twitter bitchfights he gets in while drunk seven nights a week. You know, like most “Christian” husbands and fathers of five.

TL;DR Nick is a cow with chronic menstrual cycle hysteria.

It wasn't those complaints that were escalated, those were dismissed without investigation. It was some other tard who filed a subsequent complaint saying that reading the names was some vague ethical violation. They decided to investigate that complaint, and since that one was an open investigation, Nick didn't publicly read it, although he's mentioned that it exists. And no, it hasn't ever been resolved, he responded to it and they've just been sitting on it ever since.

I've only ever had one complaint, and it took my bar association the better part of a year after I sent in my response to say "there's nothing here."

Nick is not at the level of a strip mall lawyer. He does the absolute minimum he can to keep his license and nothing else. The last time he was a strip mall lawyer was perhaps 2017 or 2018.
What did Vic Mignogna in wasn't Sam Johnson. What did in Vic Mignogna was someone's insane recommendation that he should hire an estate and trust attorney in a defamation case.
But as Nick has explained, he didn't really know Ty Beard at all and had nothing to do with any of it. Whatever happened had nothing to do with Ty Beard.

That is why Ty Beard was sitting on stage with Nick treated like a hero at Nick's fan event in Las Vegas while Vic Mignogna is done and forgotten.

He's a failed strip mall lawyer who pled out all of his criminal clients.

His most famous criminal plea deal was in that case where the wife of a gay minister embezzled hundreds of thousands of dollars to spend trying to romance the gay out of her husband. Her thefts ruined several businesses. There was a plea such that she would serve no prison time at all. The judge rejected the plea and sent her to prison. Nick's legal genius in criminal cases didn't really work out well for Melanie Daniel.

I don't think that's quite right.

It's been a month or two since I looked at the case, but he negotiated a plea agreement where the prosecutors would ask she serve 49 months in prison per the sentencing guidelines, but Nick was free to argue to the judge for a downward departure. For some bizarre reason, Nick decided to ask for no jail time even though her crimes resulted in job losses and victims' businesses being destroyed.

From what I can tell from Nick's commentary and contemporaneous news articles, the judge was pissed and sentenced her according to the guidelines.

IIRC, he never took a case to trial, but he was able to secure some dismissals.
