The energy immediately though before that was great. Phil perked up and tried some faggy lil joke he was fumbling thru. Adam interrupted him mid shitck with the "your mics muted" and Phil went from giddy to shook.

I knew at that moment we were in for something good. Before he could even get into the pignosis adam knocked him off his game. Be it unintentional or not. That subtle little shift in Phil's demeanor was like kindling to the fire it became.

He's flat out lying when he says he's okay with how things are now for him. Phil thought that he had this in the bag, that he was going to blame the trolls for everything and that Craig was just going to buy every word, just like quarter pounder. He genuinely hoped that he was going to lie his way to changing what people thought of him (he repeatedly tried using his usual spiels early on in it) and wasn't prepared to be challenged on anything.

It shows why Phil is constantly relying on scat humor, because it's the only thing that he had that he thinks is safe to use.

And it explains why he freaks out when he does go for one of these jokes, he knows that he shouldn't make them but doesn't want to admit it.

Outside of personal opinions on Craig. I think alot of people were under the impression the interview was gonna be done between the 4 hosts of sidescrollers. Witch would have been lame as fuck. Go watch the 4 of them talking now. It's lame as fuck. If the two other hosts were there. Like everyone expected before. It wouldn't have been as good. The actual sidescrollers podcast is nearly unwatchable. They were good with Phil. But when you look at the sidescrollers themselves it's easy to see why people had a bad feeling. The shit sucks.

Phil made the interview good. Craig and Adam just guided him along and let him go. And they deserve props for that no doubt. But Phil is really what made this good. Him and his crazy choice to stick it out and let unchecked bullshit fly outside his safe space.

No one could have predicted this.
